Because this role involves a combination of independent and collaborative work, this position can be conducted hybrid . To be considered for this opportunity, the selected individual must be local to the greater Southern New Hampshire area with the ability to work on-site approximately 50% of the time . Relocation assistance is not available for this opportunity.
Within Engineering, the successful candidate will perform Hardware Configuration Management (HCM) tasks including the fundamentals of Configuration Management: identification, change management, status accounting, audit and verification. The successful candidate will also serve as the Configuration Management Lead for the entire portfolio of their program, being the main point-of-contact for all things CDM related for the program team. The successful candidate will also be the point person for all CDM staff on this specific family of programs, work closely with the Business Area CDM Section Lead for staffing needs and program performance, and own the Configuration/Data Management Plan for the program.
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing Hardware Configuration Management activities per the Configuration Data Management Plan and BAE Systems policies and procedures. The HCM will manage the change process and ensure that all changes go through appropriate change boards. This position entails:
In this role, the HCM will provide expertise in the use of PLM and knowledge of BAE Systems procedures. They will stay current with industry standards and technology.
Essential Functions are: Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth in typical job responsibilities listed above. Act as a mentor within the organization on HCM processes and procedures, and mentor and train more junior HCMs when applicable Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel and potentially customers; Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents; Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations; Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule; Design and develop products and services using state-of-the-art technology, principles, theories and concepts. Work with the Business Area CDM Section Lead on staffing solutions for their family of programs.

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

- Using software applications to document the configuration status accounting (CSA) data and maintaining the data in a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
- Identification and establishment of designated baselines and Bills of Material (BOM)
- Providing support for the establishment of a Configuration Control Board in accordance with project milestones
- Maintaining a status accounting process, including preparation and maintenance of a Configuration Item Verification Record that reflects current status of the end items for hardware
- Providing for necessary interface and communication with customers, subcontractors and hardware areas within program groups and the various company functional elements supporting the program group
- Responsibility for providing hardware metrics when applicable to the Business Area CDM Section Lead

Required Skills:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 6 years of Hardware Configuration Management or related experience with degree
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently with no direction
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring quality and conformance to configuration management requirements
- Ability to obtain security clearance
