Summary/Objective
Five Stones Research Corporation (5SRC) is seeking energetic candidates to join our established and growing Huntsville-headquartered team.
Essential Functions
- Author weapons systems test and evaluation plans, interim data reports, test reports, standard operating procedures, memoranda, and other documents; write portions of documents as necessary and suggest improvements to authors and engineers.
- Verify completeness of test data. Ensure date is incorporated into test reports in proper formats.
- Re-format documents as necessary using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ensure documentation complies with applicable Department of Defense and U.S. Army test and evaluation standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop test specifications and documentation, translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise written content and visual representations.
- Assist in maintaining document production metrics used to create status reports.
- Assist in tracking documents' progress through the review and approval process; obtain approval signatures of final test and evaluation reports.
- Apply knowledge of test procedures and applicable standards, including military standards (MIL-STDs), military specifications (MIL-SPECs), military performance specifications (MIL-PRFs), and aerospace guidelines to develop technically accurate documentation that adheres to professional technical writing principles and U.S. Army requirements.
Required Education and Experience
- BA/BS in English, Communications, or related disciplines from an accredited college/university.
- Two (2) to five (5) years' experience in technical writing.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Proficient user of Microsoft's Office 365 suite of software and applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Microsoft's SharePoint. Well versed in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat.
- Basic understanding of engineering terminology.
- Experience routinely interacting with engineers from multiple engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technicians and engineers to capture, analyze, and document technical data and operational procedures.
- Preferred weapon system test and evaluation experience.
