Responsibilities

• Determine content that needs to be included in disconnected content bundle for supporting:
  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform install and upgrade
  • Selected OpenShift Container Platform storage providers
  • Selected OpenShift Container Platform compliance and vulnerability scanning and remediation tools
  • Selected OpenShift Container Platform network provider
  • Selected release engineering tools
  • Selected deployable units
• Validate disconnected installation prerequisites completed, including but not limited to:
  • Validating disconnected hydrated registry has required content
  • Validating disconnected bootstrap node access to the disconnected hydrated registry
  • Validating disconnected bootstrap node access to destination compute platform
• Create and configure an internet connected content staging node, including:
  • Integrating with existing organizational identity management, authorization, and authentication systems
• Creating and configuring an internet disconnected bootstrap node, including:
  • Integrate with existing organizational identity management, authorization, and authentication systems
  • Creating machine templates (e.g. AMI, VM) where applicable
• Create and configure an internet disconnected container image registry, if one does not already exist, including:
  • Configure authentication
  • Configure SSL
  • Configure repositories to be populated by content bundle promotion workflow
  • Configuring Operator Lifecycle Management (OLM) custom resource definitions, such as CatalogSource, Subscription, InstallPlan
  • Demonstrating ability to repeatedly perform the disconnected content bundle promotion workflow
• Review, revisit, and document:
  • Disconnected environment bootstrap infrastructure requirements
• Disconnected content promotion workflow consisting of the following elements:
  • Collects latest content from identified content sources
  • Creates a portable content bundle
  • Allows for existing system to move the portable bundle from connected environment to disconnected connected environment
  • Unpack content bundle and distributes content to content type destinations in the disconnected environment for consumption
• Use automation for:
  • Collecting Red Hat CoreOS (Red Hat CoreOS) images
• Collecting Container Images, including:
  • Container Storage Interfaces
  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform release
  • Release engineering tools
  • Additional OCI compliant image sources as required (identified in the Navigate phase)
• Collect other binary artifacts, including:
  • Command Line Tools, such as:
    • Oc
    • Openshift-install
      Kubectl
    • IaaS provider specific dependencies/tooling (e.g. aws-cli, azure-cli)
    • Other artifacts identified during the Navigate phase
• Collect source code, including:
  • Configuration-as-Code and Infrastructure-as-Code content
  • Other application source code as identified during the Navigate phase
  • Bundling of the collected content into a format portable from the internet- connected to the internet- disconnected environment
  • Unpacking and distribution of the content bundle to the content type destinations in the disconnected environment
