Program Overview
Peraton provides critical support to the customer through services including developing and maintaining IT systems, enhancing data analytics, improving operational efficiencies, and supporting mission-critical applications used for immigration enforcement, investigation, and detention management. The goal is to ensure the customer's technological infrastructure is reliable, secure, and capable of supporting its law enforcement and public safety missions.
About The Role
Peraton is looking for an experienced Telecommunications Engineer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position will support the Operations and Solutions Delivery Support (OSDSS) to DHS ICE. The selected candidate will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT and telecommunications initiatives in a mission critical environment. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced federal setting.
The Telecommunications Engineer will provide support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, design, orders, and administration. Provides in-depth engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives (VoIP, Cloud Hosted Solution) for government agencies in support of their strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancement design for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures. Provides and interface support to telecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, and telecommunications strategic program management. Provides project tracking and guidance to other team members on a regular basis and provides reporting to the customer.

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide support to User Community for ICE specific Telecommunications business needs and services.
- Ensure Avaya system requirements are met, including third-party software and/or hardware
- Application support for custom app groups within the ICE specific network.
- Collaborated with clients and sales staff to support projects and service requests
- Provide 24/7 Production Outage Recovery Support
- Create standard operating procedures (SOP) for training dynamic workforce
- Provide end-user training remotely and in person.
- Create and Maintain documentation, Reports, SOPs, Data Spreadsheets, etc.
- Submit Weekly Status Reports
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience or Master's degree and 3 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and minimum 9 years experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DHS Public Trust.
- Must have experience and be able to independently support, administer, engineer, and troubleshoot Avaya Telecommunications Systems; hardware and applications
- Must have experience providing remote technical support to vendors and End Users for complex network & switching systems.
- Must have working knowledge of Cabled and Terminated Telephone and Data Jacks; IPs; ports/port security.
- Must be able to configure networks to ensure smooth transmission of data that fulfills the objective of the organization.
- Must have working knowledge and capability to remotely program and prepare Avaya phone systems for site specific installations across the country
- Must have experience designing and implementation of LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN, and WWAN.
- Must have experience with identification/fixing for the problems within existing systems design/implementation of new systems, enhances the existing systems and participates in analysis, design and new construction of next generation IT systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Any of the following Certifications would be an advantage: Avaya Badges, CTNS, iNARTE, IPEP, NCTI, (CCNA, CCNP, CCNE)
