Job Description
Data Scientist
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Data Scientist to join a pioneering team at NGA, focused on advancing automated multi-INT analytic models for GEOINT collection. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research initiatives aimed at transforming current geospatial intelligence methods and increasing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, test, and refine automated multi-INT analytical models to detect activity of interest and optimize GEOINT collection.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex, ambiguous problems into innovative, data-driven solutions.
• Leverage machine learning algorithms and advanced statistical techniques to analyze large-scale intelligence data sets.
• Create and maintain data processing workflows utilizing tools like JEMA, ESRI Model Builder, Alteryx, and Tableau Prep.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies to continuously improve analytic capabilities and support mission needs.
• Document findings, develop prototypes, and support the implementation of scalable automated systems for operational use.
Qualifications:
• Active TS/SCI clearance, with a willingness to undergo a CI polygraph examination.
• Bachelor’s degree in a data science, computer science, or related STEM field; candidates with a Master’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience are preferred.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or analytics related to intelligence or geospatial data.
• Proficiency in Python programming; knowledge of additional languages such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is a plus.
• Familiarity with GEOINT collection processes and NGA/NRO systems is highly desirable.
• Experience with activity-based intelligence (ABI), multi-INT data fusion, and applying machine learning algorithms to complex datasets.
• Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability to evolving mission requirements, and an innovative mindset for research-style projects.
Benefits & Opportunities:
• Contribute directly to national security missions through innovative solutions and cutting-edge research.
• Engage in continuous professional development with opportunities to learn new technologies and methodologies.
• Collaborate with experts in GEOINT and intelligence communities on challenging, impactful projects.
• Join an experimental team dedicated to shaping the future of geospatial intelligence capabilities.
This position offers a unique chance to work at the forefront of intelligence technology development within a dynamic and mission-focused environment. We welcome candidates who thrive in research-driven settings and are eager to develop transformative analytic approaches for NGA’s evolving needs.
