Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has 2 (two) openings for a Command Systems Special Projects Inc 1.0 Program Manager 3 & Command Systems Special Projects Inc 2.0 Program Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. These positions will be located in Roy, Utah and support the Sentinel Program and may offer a competitive relocation package.

What You'll Get To Do:

• Lead the Business Unit as the Program Manager for appropriate Increment through EMD.

• Owning the Business Unit programmatic execution to include program integration within the Business Unit, Suppliers, Customers and other Stakeholders as necessary.

• Detect, triage and mitigate early stage incidents that could become schedule, cost, or technical blockers.

• Assemble and lead cross functional response teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Test, Software).

• Produce rapid, data driven recommendations and coordinate them with executive sponsors for rapid resolution.

• Maintain the Inc initiative backlog in the Special Projects portfolio.

• Report risk reduction metrics, cost impact and schedule variance in senior leadership briefings.

• Ensure program schedules and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated and have what they need for success.

• Coordinate and communicate technical execution and risks/mitigation to cross-discipline teams, government customers, and program leadership.

• Development and adherence to master plans and schedules.

• Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation, and realization.

• Provide expertise as necessary for future business opportunities.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years related experience or Masters Degree and 6 years of related experience, or 4 additional years in lieu of degree
  • Managing people preferred
  • US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years and Active Sentinel special access clearance (PAR).
  • Experience as an EVMS Control Account Manager (CAM)


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • 3+ years of related experience working on the Sentinel program in various positions.
  • 3+ years of experience formally leading engineering teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal.
  • Proven leader, problem solver, strong work ethic, excellent communications and interpersonal skills for close work with teammates, stakeholders and customers.
  • Ability to brief Segment, Program, and Customer leadership.
  • Experience leading interdisciplinary, major program event efforts on defense or aerospace programs.
  • Experience working across multiple functional organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Logistics, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman build execution, processes, procedures, tools and metric
  • Experience with ICBM programs.
  • Experience with complex system development on large programs.
  • Experience in system sell off and delivery to the customer.
  • MBSE experience (2+ years).
  • Product Development Experience (1+ years).
  • Active TS clearance.
  • 2 + years of experience managing people.


Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $250,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
