Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Financial Analyst - Level 2 or Level 3, to join our Space Sector Financial Planning Team . This role is located in our McLean VA facility.
This position will report to the Manager of Sector Financial Planning and be a key contributor to the monthly forecasting and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) processes. This position will work closely with Sector Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting, Division Financial Planning, and Corporate Financial Planning.
This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or 3.

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

In this job, you will:
- Prepare monthly balance sheet financials for Sector home office and understand the composition of the balances.
- Provide month end fluxes comparing actuals to forecast for the balance sheet and cash flow
- Effectively liaise between division/business POC's and the Sector Financial reporting.
- Present and communicate monthly financial forecast to Sector leadership.
- Identify areas of improvement within the processes and work to execute approved recommendations.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis as required.

Basic Qualifications:
- Level 2: Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of professional experience in business management finance and/or accounting - OR - Master's degree with 1+ year of professional experience in business management, finance and/or accounting.
- Level 3: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of professional experience in business management, accounting, finance and/or accounting - OR - Master's degree with 3+ years of professional experience in business management, finance and/or accounting.
- Prior experience with Deltek Costpoint, SAP, and/or Hyperion Financial Management
- Prior experience with Cognos TM1, or similar, financial planning tool.
- Data and financial analysis skills, including use and understanding of spreadsheets.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, yet functions well in a team environment.
- No clearance required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience focusing on continuous improvement and identifying efficiencies in recurring processes.
- Proficient data and financial analysis skills, including use and understanding of spreadsheets.
- Curious nature and wanting to understand more about balance sheet composition.
- CPA or significant balance sheet / accounting exposure.
