Job Description
Savvee Inc. is seeking a seasoned Senior Hardware/Software Installation Technician to support our federal client onsite in Norfolk, VA. The ideal candidate provides expert-level network operations and infrastructure installation support, performing advanced planning, installation, integration, troubleshooting, and sustainment of enterprise network hardware and software across secure enterprise environments. They will lead site installations, system validation, develop technical documentation, and coordinate with government stakeholders, engineers, cybersecurity teams, and vendors to ensure mission success. Candidates must already hold an active DoD Secret clearance.
Essential Functions
• Planning, installing, configuring, integrating, and validating network hardware and software components across secure enterprise environments, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and virtual infrastructure.
• Executing advanced network installations and upgrades in accordance with approved engineering designs, STIGs, and change management processes.
• Performing advanced troubleshooting of network connectivity, performance, and interoperability issues across hardware and software layers.
• Leading or independently performing site installations, technology refreshes, and system cutovers with minimal supervision.
• Supporting system validation and compliance activities in coordination with security teams.
• Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including installation guides, as‑built diagrams, and configuration baselines.
• Coordinating with government personnel, engineers, cybersecurity teams, and vendors to ensure mission alignment and successful delivery.
• Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to the client.
• Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support.
Required Education & Training
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Have one of the following certifications: Cisco CCNP Enterprise or CompTIA Security+
Minimum Experience & Skills Required
• Seven or more years of progressive experience in network operations, hardware/software installation, or enterprise IT infrastructure support
• Five or more years of progressive experience in network operations, hardware/software installation, or enterprise IT infrastructure support in Microsoft environments
• Must currently hold an active DoD Secret clearance
• A proficiency in utilizing MS Office products
• Demonstrated awareness of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and the responsible use of AI-enabled tools in a professional environment, consistent with organizational policies and applicable federal guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A highly motivated self-starter
• Must be motivated and have excellent customer service skills
