The Work
You will design, implement, and operate modern virtualized and software-defined networking environments for the C2BMC program. Leveraging VMware vSphere and VMware NSX, you will deploy and maintain secure, scalable, and highly-available compute and network services. Your responsibilities include configuring NSX transport zones, segments, edge nodes, and logical routers; enforcing micro-segmentation and firewall policies; managing vSphere clusters with HA, DRS, and storage integration; and troubleshooting performance, capacity, and security issues. You will collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and security teams, integrate virtual and physical networks, and travel to remote sites to lead installations and provide status updates. Work will be performed within an Agile Scrum team, with occasional after-hours or weekend support as required.

You are a seasoned virtualization professional with hands-on experience in VMware NSX and vSphere, backed by active VCP-VCF (or legacy VCP) certification and a Secret clearance. You possess strong networking fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently on field projects and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Basic Qualifications:
- Active Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizen with valid passport)
- 8140-compliant security certification (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
- Active VCP-VCF Administrator and/or Architect certification (legacy VCP-DCV or VCP-NV acceptable)
- Hands-on experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting VMware NSX and vSphere (ESXi, vCenter)
- Experience with NetApp NAS/SAN, Windows Server, and SQL Server environments
- Strong understanding of virtualization concepts (vMotion, HA, DRS, storage integration)
- In-depth networking knowledge (OSI model, TCP/IP, routing protocols, traffic analysis)
- Experience applying Agile fundamentals in engineering work
Desired Skills:
- Top Secret clearance
- Effective written and oral communication; proficiency with PowerPoint and Visio
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently on large field projects
- Active VCAP (VCF Automation, Networking, Administrator, or Architect) certification or legacy VCAP-NV / VCAP-DCV
- Experience with VMware storage solutions (vSAN, SRM, SAN)
- Automation/scripting skills (PowerCLI, Python, Ansible)
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud (VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution)

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
