Job Description

Duties

  • You will be responsible for all Maintenance Planning activities from Concept Exploration to Disposal, of assigned programs.
  • You will verify that the system/support system developed meets and/or enables all Maintenance Planning requirements defined in the system specification and Statement of Work.
  • You will develop and record Logistics Product Data (LPD) attributes in a suitable LPD database.
  • You will assist in establishing processes and guidelines that ensure supportability analyses performed are logical, analytical, repeatable and auditable, and result in successful identification of maintenance requirements and support alternatives.
  • You will assist the FST Maintenance Planning Project Lead to ensure effective and efficient planning, integration, and phasing of all efforts.
  • You will execute supportability analysis processes; determine support resources necessary to sustain the acquired systems and equipment throughout their life cycles, and ensure proactive validation of Maintenance Plans.
  • You will conduct maintenance task analysis and identify significant maintenance tasks that are required for the system/ equipment during its life cycle.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-11:

1) Understanding of the advanced concepts, theories, principles and practices of Integrated Product Support (IPS) necessary to create and establish innovative and effective program policies and procedures for aircraft, engines, components support equipment, trainers, and other major systems as required by the U.S. Navy, other DoD activities, and authorized Foreign Military (FMS) organizations. 2) Understanding of Logistics Product Database (LPD) deliverables in accordance with government and industry directives, guidance and standards. 3) Demonstrated skill and personal art in exercising diplomacy and tact in negotiations, conversations, correspondence, etc., especially when diverse and opposing points of view, goals or objectives are expressed. 4) Knowledge of the relationships among design characteristics. 5) Theory, concepts, principles and practices of all aspects of the broad field of logistics management.

GS-12:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Comprehensive knowledge of the advanced concepts, theories, principles and practices of Integrated Product Support (IPS) necessary to create and establish innovative and effective program policies and procedures for aircraft, engines, components support equipment, trainers, and other major systems as required by the U.S. Navy, other DoD activities, and authorized Foreign Military (FMS) organizations. 2) In-depth knowledge of Logistics Product Database (LPD) deliverables in accordance with government and industry directives, guidance and standards. 3) Demonstrated skill and personal art in exercising diplomacy and tact in negotiations, conversations, correspondence, etc., especially when diverse and opposing points of view, goals or objectives are expressed. 4) Knowledge of the relationships among design characteristics; support systems and associated total costs of ownership. 5) Theory, concepts, principles and practices of all aspects of the broad field of logistics management that enables the incumbent to fully appreciate and understand life-cycle support considerations and systems acquisition management.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

LL.M., if related
