Job Description
GTSC seeks an Informatica Subject Matter Expert (SME). This position is in the Metro Washington DC region and requires that a hybrid-eligible professional make commutes to Fairfax, Virginia at least three days each week.
A Public Trust background investigation required.

The Informatica Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the technical authority for Informaticau2011based data integration, data quality, and data governance solutions. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and advising on enterprise data pipelines and architectures that support missionu2011critical analytics, reporting, and operational systems.
The SME works closely with data architects, developers, system owners, and stakeholders to ensure Informatica solutions are scalable, secure, performant, and aligned with enterprise data strategy and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
• Serve as the Informatica technical authority for PowerCenter, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), and/or Informatica Data Management Cloud (IDMC).
• Design endu2011tou2011end ETL/ELT architectures , data flows, and integration patterns for complex, multiu2011source environments.
• Advise on onu2011prem, cloud, and hybrid Informatica implementations.
• Lead Informatica platform upgrades, migrations (e.g., PowerCenter to IICS), and modernization efforts.
Data Integration & Engineering
• Develop and optimize Informatica mappings, workflows, taskflows, and reusable components.
• Integrate structured and semiu2011structured data from databases, APIs, flat files, cloud sources, and enterprise applications.
• Implement performance tuning strategies (partitioning, pushdown optimization, caching, indexing).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data integration issues across environments.
Data Quality, Governance & Metadata
• Implement Informatica Data Quality, Data Governance, and Metadata Management solutions.
• Define and enforce data standards, validation rules, lineage, and impact analysis.
• Support master data management (MDM) and reference data initiatives where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Advisory & Stakeholder Support
• Act as a trusted advisor to program leadership, customers, and technical teams.
• Translate business and mission requirements into technical Informatica solutions.
• Provide technical input for proposals, architecture reviews, and design documentation.
• Mentor junior developers and provide bestu2011practice guidance.
Operations & Documentation
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and SOPs.
• Support production deployments, monitoring, and incident resolution.
• Participate in Agile or hybrid delivery teams (sprint planning, design reviews, retrospectives).
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of handsu2011on Informatica experience, including work at an enterprise or program level.
• Demonstrated experience as a technical lead or SME , not just a developer.
Technical Skills
• Strong expertise in:
• Informatica PowerCenter and/or IICS / IDMC
• ETL/ELT design patterns and best practices
• SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Experience integrating cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with data warehousing, analytics platforms, and reporting tools.
• Understanding of data security, access controls, and compliance requirements.
Preferred / Niceu2011tou2011Have Qualifications
• Informatica certifications (PowerCenter, IICS, IDMC).
• Experience supporting federal government or regulated environments .
• Knowledge of DevOps / CIu2011CD pipelines for data integration.
• Experience with API integration, messaging, or streaming frameworks.
• Exposure to data governance frameworks and enterprise data strategies.
Clearance (if applicable)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust background investigation.
