Job Description
As a F-16 Mission Planning Analyst with MTSI, you will be conducting fast-paced, streamlined flight test operations for the Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Command Test Center (AATC) in Tucson, AZ. This mission planning expertise will support the latest F-16 operational flight programs and the associated systems and/or weapons through mission planning architectures. As the mission planning structure underpins every sortie, this position directly impacts test events for F-16 Combined Test Force (CTF) designed rapidly field new capabilities to the Air Reserve Component (ARC) that enhance platform lethality and survivability.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Provide expertise on F-16 mission planning systems to include Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) and Portable Flight Planning Software (PFPS) to provide input for mission planning software updates to user interface and output.
- Act as system administrator to manage AATC Mission Planning computer systems. Build up and maintain new classified systems as they become available.
- Maintain DoD 8140 (451-Systems Administrator, Intermediate Level) compliance.
- Support AATC mission planning independently at home or away to facilitate deployments in support of flight test events.
- Responsible for both conceptual and technical implementation of software and hardware updates to mission planning systems into ARC aircraft, along with the synchronization efforts with the applicable program office and AATC.
- Provide backup capacity to download and archive post flight mission data, ensuring it is available for review, and oversee mission data transfers to the 309th Software Engineering Group / system vendors as required.
- Understand the operation and tactical applications of Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve aircraft and systems to better facilitate mission planning improvements.
- Directly support AATC in the development of advanced combat systems from cradle to grave in an independent, high-energy environment and will operate in multidisciplinary teams of industry and government personnel consisting of engineers, analysts, pilots, and aircrew.
Qualifications:
- Current DoD 8140 (451-Systems Administrator, Intermediate Level) certification or the ability to achieve certification in 6-9 months.
- Ability to work on an aircraft flight line in a high-noise environment.
- Strong ability to work in an integrated product team environment with demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills to include the ability to work with military aircrew.
- Good analytical skills and be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to draft clear, concise reports, and to provide technical guidance and briefings.
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Must have a can-do attitude and be self-starting, ambitious, and hard-working.
Desired Skills:
- At least 3 years' computer science / system administrator experience.
- Familiarity with F-16 mission planning systems to include JMPS and PFPS (Portable Flight Planning Software).
- Familiarity with Active Directory, USAF Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Experience with aircraft test, to include execution and reporting.
- Background in classified special access programs and procedures.
- Background in USAF/USN combat aircraft systems and tactical employment.
- Experience with common design and data analysis tools.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security, data science, information systems, information technology, or software engineering.
- In lieu of bachelor's degree, certifications such as Cloud +, CICSP, GSEC, Security+, and SSCP.
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret security clearance required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance and meet eligibility requirements for Special Access Program (SAP).
Travel Requirements:
- Travel is expected to be intermittent. Up to 20% of travel, depending on program workload, with occasional travel periods to support test deployments for more than a week.
