The Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) division, is seeking a GPS Systems Administrator (Level 3 or 4). This position will support the Global Positioning System (GPS) sustainment program located at Cape Canaveral, FL.
GPS is a satellite-based radio-navigation system owned by the United States government and operated by the United States Space Force. GPS is the world's largest military satellite constellation and is the world's only global utility. GPS provides position, navigation, and timing data to military and civilian users globally with countless applications and an unlimited number of users. Boeing has over 30 years of history in GPS, including achieving full system capability in 1995. The current Boeing team supports the US Space Force by sustaining and monitoring the health and capabilities of the 12 GPS Block IIF satellites in the GPS constellation, launched from 2010 to 2016. The Boeing GPS sustainment team also provides support to its US Space Force customer with reports and expertise on all aspects of the GPS system. Sustainment efforts will continue through the life of the Block IIF satellites, with a design life expectancy of 2031 and beyond. The program is currently operating under a 10-year sustainment contract, from 2022 to 2031.
The GPS Systems Administrator will be a key member of a high-performing team engaged in critical projects related to the GPS IIF satellite constellation. As a member of our team, you will perform system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and maintenance of servers and workstations to support the GPS architecture, and some Cybersecurity work. This role will provide problem resolution and technical support for our classified systems. This position will support the maintenance, validation, and configuration management of computing delivery systems. This role will also maintain and monitor system performance to support the GPS operational mission. As an administrator, you will play a crucial role in integrating logistics, technological advances, and engineering into an ecosystem that supports the mission while meeting modern cybersecurity requirements.

Position Responsibilities:
- Perform activities to install, configure, and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software, and components
- Integrate and maintain system and computing components, including but not limited to: databases, networking equipment, and applications
- Perform system hardware/software integration, alongside cybersecurity implementations
- Support real-time satellite mission as well as offline test efforts, ensuring the system conforms to mission requirements
- Perform System Administrator functions for Windows platform within a medium-sized enterprise domain architecture (Active Directory, DNS, GPO, ACL, DFS, etc.)
- Participate in activities to plan, develop, design, and integrate computer applications and components
- Plan, coordinate, and execute hardware/software changes for enterprise releases, considering cybersecurity requirements compliance and configuration management
- Manage and perform disaster recovery actions, including backup and restoration of complex computing service operations
- Perform, manage, and administer service/software deployments and upgrades
- Maintain group policies in compliance with cybersecurity requirements
- Perform system vulnerability updates/patching, testing and operational integration
- Perform system problem identification and resolution
- Integrate cybersecurity solutions into the information system architecture and associated processes
- Monitor and maintain system performance to support mission operations and cybersecurity compliance
- Perform system and cybersecurity administrator functions to identify, analyze, and address vulnerability management action items
- Perform/assist in administrative tasks related to the system such as technical writing, system documentation, cybersecurity, and configuration management audits
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Current Security+ certified (or similar certification meeting DoD Directive 8570.01 Certification Requirements)
- Experience in Windows Systems Administration
- Hardware repair experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in troubleshooting and restoration of computing service operations
- Experience performing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software installations and support
- Experience with cybersecurity vulnerability resolution
- Networking/Cisco experience
- Experience performing the restoration of computing service operations
- Experience performing system problem identification and resolution
- Experience integrating cybersecurity solutions into information systems and associated processes
- Experience and knowledge of Unix systems
- Experience in cybersecurity scanning, monitoring, analysis, and resolution
- Experience with Splunk, ACAS, and other SIEM Security tools
- Familiarity with implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
- Solaris 8 (or higher) System Administration experience
- Ability to solve problems with critical thinking and a strategic approach
