Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Plant Engineering HVAC V role will be maintenance of infrastructure and services supporting BAE's Goff's Falls Road (MNH30/31) and MAN18 Hanger Facilities both located in Manchester New Hampshire.
The MNH30/31 facility sits on a 45 acre site and is comprised of two newly renovated 4-story connected structures totaling approximately 210,000 square feet of space supporting various internal businesses and functions. All spaces were completely renovated including installation of new finishes, flooring, walls, restrooms, lighting, furniture, and cafeteria equipment. Additionally, all supporting infrastructure is newly installed including central chiller plant, HW boilers, steam boilers, electrical distribution, generators, roofing system, elevators, fire alarm systems, security systems, and IT infrastructure to name a few. All grounds have been upgraded including entryways, roadways and parking lots. Full building occupancy is projected to be approximately 700+ people (Currently 650). This role provides opportunity to work in a large multifaceted facilities organization as well as offering a competitive compensation and benefits package.
The successful candidate will be part of a Plant Engineering Family that maintains and operates building infrastructure consisting of a variety of industrial spaces. These include Office Areas, Closed DoD Space, R&D Specialty Labs, and a Café that supports the site. This role will be reported directly to the Plant Engineering Site Manager.
As a member of our Team, you will be supporting all of the listed Facilities, working with a broad range of HVAC equipment from roof top ERV systems to a full Chiller Plant with three - 400 ton Trane chillers, chilled and condenser water pumps that supports the cooling towers, gas fired hot water boiler systems and equipment, gas fired hot water heaters, a gas fired steam humidification boiler, PAO chiller systems, pumping systems, chilled beams, multiple ac units, vav systems and components.
With a robust Building Automation System supporting most HVAC equipment, it will also be imperative that the selected individual has the basic understanding of the functionality of building automation controls and their role within the supporting HVAC systems.

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

- Maintains, adjusts, repairs, installs, troubleshoot, tests and operates all types of air conditioners, chillers, hot water boilers, steam boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
- Maintains all associated pumps, VFD's, Variable Air Volume systems, controls, preventative maintenance plans for all the above associated equipment.
- Must coordinate work with outside vendors, to support troubleshooting, repairs and installations.
- Will perform analysis on boiler water, chilled water, condenser water, closed loops and glycol systems etc. and adjust chemical feed rates to assure compliance with established parameters. Which includes recording reading into logs on analysis results. Works with outside water treatment contractor (monthly), to conserve energy, maximize efficient operations and extend equipment life.
- Must be highly skilled and capable of the installation of HVAC and refrigeration equipment. The qualified candidate shall understand how to adjust HVAC equipment after installation, modification or a complete overhaul.
- Utilizes Building Automation System to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance.
- Must be able to operate within a computerized maintenance work order system. Qualified candidate must be able to log work performed, provide a brief explanation of the problem and summarize what was replaced and or repaired.
- May be required to clean and service equipment that may contain hazardous substances and to participate in the sorting and accumulation of hazardous waste materials in accordance with the Federal, State and Local regulators.
- Ability to work in a combination of indoor mechanical spaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
- Capable of lifting, carrying, and positioning equipment and materials up to 50 lbs, with occasionally heavier team-assisted or mechanical lifts
- Ability to climb ladders, access elevated platforms, and work safely at heights
- Ability to perform periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and overhead work
- Ability to safely operate tools, test instruments, and industrial HVAC equipment
- Capable of distinguishing sounds, vibrations, and operational changes in equipment for troubleshooting purposes
- Visual acuity to read gauges, BAS screens, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Ability to analyze complex HVAC system issues and apply logical troubleshooting techniques across multiple systems (chilled water, steam, BAS, etc.)
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, sequences of operation, and manufacturer documentation
- Capable of organizing and managing multiple work orders, PM tasks, and emergent issues simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail when documenting work, logging system data, and completing compliance-related tasks
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members, vendors, and leadership both verbally and in written form
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies, building systems, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Applies sound judgment and accountability when working independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrates ownership of assigned systems and proactively identifies improvement opportunities
- Works collaboratively across trades (Electrical, BAS, Plumbing, Facilities) to support overall site operations
- Maintains a strong safety mindset and follows all site and regulatory requirements
- Supports energy efficiency, reliability, and uptime initiatives across the facility
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical facility needs
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Requires a High School diploma or GED
- Possess a valid NH or resident state Driver's License
- An EPA Certification (Class III) for the proper use of refrigerants and minimum of (4) years of commercial/industrial experience in the HVAC trade
- Valid New Hampshire Gas Fitters Service License
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Completion of a recognized Certificate program in HVAC (complete program will involve 984 hours of classroom training).
