Modeling & Simulation Systems Engineer

Full-Time with an Employee-Owned and Best Places to Work Certified Contractor

Onsite at Schriever Space Force Base, CO

Experienced System Engineer to work with a group of engineers to generate the kinematic output data of simulated missile trajectories for the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA's) Threat Modeling Center (TMC). This data is delivered as part of an Integrated Threat Product (ITP) to various Department of Defense customers (primarily within MDA) to drive the Threat portion of their simulations.

Responsibilities:

• Review customer scenario requests and identify potential issues before production begins
• Generate high-resolution kinematic trajectories using the Threat Modeling & Simulation Suite (TMSS)
• Troubleshoot modeling products, trajectory outputs, and supporting data sets
• Review final deliverables to verify customer objectives are met and specifications are accurately represented
• Partner closely with Systems Engineering and Software Development teams to support and improve internally developed tools
• Support delivery of Integrated Threat Products for MDA and other DoD customers

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibilty required
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM-related field
• 2+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (Or 0+ years with a Master's degree)
• Knowledge of missiles and six degrees of freedom (6 DoF) trajectory representation
• Familiarity with missile defense system components and their interoperability
• Understanding of Linux and Windows based platforms with their associated software
• Ability to work independently and in groups and must be a self-starter
• Excellent time management, schedule estimation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of missile targeting and allocation and "Red Force" laydowns
• Experience with infrared and radar cross section (RCS) signatures
• Experience in systems engineering and/or software development and testing, especially with Agile methodology
• Quality control experience with a strong background in test and troubleshooting
• Experience working within the Missile Defense Agency, especially related to Ground Test exercises/events
• Ability to lead projects and delegate technical tasks
