Kentro is hiring an experienced Program Risk Manager to support our VA-ESOM- End Point Support and Operations Monitoring contract across the United States. The VA is responsible for providing comprehensive onsite and remote support to IT customers across all VA Administrations and special program offices, including direct support of over 340,000 VA employees and thousands of contractors who use government-furnished IT equipment and infrastructure. The VA provides support staff across 100+ CONUS and OCONUS locations, including difficult-to-accommodate locales, such as high cost of living or under-supported economic areas, where VA offices or facilities may be located and require onsite services.
As a Program Risk Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational execution of the ESOM Program's Risk Management Program. In this role, you will be responsible for building, maturing, and governing the Program's risk framework, ensuring risks are effectively identified, assessed, quantified, mitigated, and communicated to leadership. The Program Risk Manager reports into the Program Management Office and partners with execution leadership, finance, program leadership, corporate services, and subcontractor organizations to drive transparency, accountability, and informed decision‑making. In this role, the candidate may support other operational activities that mature organizational effectiveness.
Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.

Responsibilities
- Own and lead the full lifecycle of the program's risk management process, including identification, scoring, prioritization, mitigation planning, and ongoing monitoring, for a 1000+ person program.
- Continuously refine and mature risk practices to ensure operational excellence, contractual alignment, and organizational compliance.
- Establish and manage the cadence of risk governance, including structured risk reviews with leadership and stakeholders, while tailoring risks to the view of the individual audience.
- Drive measurable enhancements to the risk program and quantify improvements where applicable (e.g., risk exposure reduction, process efficiency).
- Lead collaboration with Finance and risk owners to document and quantify financial impacts associated with risks, including exposure levels and potential cost implications.
- Support preparation of risk briefings and communications for program leadership and customer audiences related to financial impact and mitigation progress.
- Act as the primary risk management liaison across technical staff, corporate services, finance, subcontractor leadership, and program leadership.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to risk owners to ensure quality inputs, accountability, and consistency in risk documentation.
- Communicate risk status, trends, and escalations clearly through written updates, dashboards, and presentations.
- Collect and analyze risk metrics and trends to provide insights to leadership and support decision‑making.
- Maintain the program's risk register, trackers, meeting minutes, and related reporting artifacts with a high degree of accuracy and detail.
- Manage SharePoint or equivalent repositories for risk documentation and records management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Operations Management, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience related to risk management, program analysis, or operational/project support with at least 5 years in Risk Management roles.
- Experience leading Risk Management processes for government contracts over 150 million dollars.
- Experience with both technical and operational programs in multi-contractor programs.
- Demonstrated ability to design, manage, or improve risk management processes.
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder facilitation skills.
- Ability to articulate complex risks succinctly and articulate the impacts clearly.
- Capability to define and execute a plan to achieve goals as a self-starter in a team environment.
- Ability to view risks from multiple stakeholder viewpoints.
- Working knowledge of differentiation between Corporate and Delivery risks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, fast‑paced environment.
- Industry knowledge and/or U.S. Government security controls and best practices
- Able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
- US Citizen or Green Card holder
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting a federal programs or working within environments subject to government security expectations.
- PMP Certification, RMP or ITIL 4 Foundation or equivalent
