Position Overview
We are seeking a Power Apps Developer to support the STORM Project Office under PAE Fires, focused on delivering and sustaining Power Platform solutions that directly enable acquisition, financial tracking, and operational workflows.
This role is execution-heavy, not theoretical. You will be maintaining, enhancing, and scaling existing Canvas Apps backed by SharePoint Lists, while integrating Power Automate workflows and supporting Power BI reporting.
If you can’t troubleshoot broken flows, fix bad data structures, or optimize a sluggish app—you won’t last in this role.

Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Maintenance
• Maintain and enhance existing Power Apps Canvas Apps
• Design and implement new features based on evolving STORM mission requirements
• Optimize app performance (delegation, data calls, load times)
• Ensure usability for non-technical DoD users
Data & Backend (SharePoint)
• Design, manage, and optimize SharePoint Lists as application data sources
• Implement data structures that scale (avoid the typical SharePoint dumpster fires)
• Handle permissions, versioning, and data integrity
Workflow Automation
• Develop and maintain Power Automate Flows
o Approval workflows
o Notifications
o Data movement and synchronization
• Troubleshoot failed flows and performance issues
Reporting & Analytics
• Support and build Power BI reports and dashboards
• Connect Power BI to SharePoint and Power Platform data sources
• Ensure data accuracy and usability for leadership decision-making
Integration & Collaboration
• Work with analysts, functional leads, and stakeholders within STORM
• Translate business requirements into working solutions quickly
• Support Agile delivery cycles and iterative enhancements

Required Qualifications
• Active Secret Security Clearance (non-negotiable)
• 5–10 years of experience in:
o Microsoft Power Platform
o SharePoint (as a data backend)
• Strong experience with:
o Power Apps (Canvas Apps)
o Power Automate
o SharePoint Lists (as relational-ish data sources)
• Experience building or supporting Power BI reports
• Ability to troubleshoot:
o Broken flows
o Delegation issues
o Data inconsistencies
• Strong understanding of:
o Data modeling (even in imperfect environments like SharePoint)
o Performance optimization techniques
________________________________________
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have, Not Required)
• Experience in DoD acquisition or financial systems (GFEBS, CCaR, etc.)
• Familiarity with Dataverse (even if not currently used)
• Experience with:
o Role-based access and permissions models
o Large-scale SharePoint environments
• Basic knowledge of:
o JavaScript / JSON (for advanced customization)
o REST APIs and connectors
________________________________________
Key Traits We’re Looking For
• Problem solver – not someone who escalates everything
• Self-sufficient – can operate without constant direction
• Practical thinker – understands tradeoffs (SharePoint ≠ SQL, act accordingly)
• Mission-focused – understands this supports real-world defense operations
________________________________________
What Success Looks Like
• Apps run faster, and enhance business process
• Flows don’t fail silently
• Data is clean and trustworthy
• Users stop complaining and start relying on the system
• Leadership actually uses your dashboards
