Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Mission Assurance Engineer / Principal Mission Assurance Engineer - Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team in Clearfield, UT. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
Candidate will work in an industrial environment and support solving complex engineering problems. Will effectively interact with design engineering team and provide support across Factory Value Streams, Materials and Process experts, Process engineering, and Tool Design.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

In this job, you will:
- Understand the design intent, failure modes, requirements and specifications of the product as well as the manufacturing processes, process controls, statistics, SPC, and quality inspections.
- Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines and internal policies/procedures to assure compliance/resolve non-conformances and will serve as liaison between Mission Assurance and various internal and external organizations, including some government agencies.
- Work directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections, process control, and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements, meet specifications, and improve processing.

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
- Approved STEM Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience - OR - Approved STEM Master's degree with 0 years of relevant experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
- Experience in a Quality Assurance/ Quality Engineering role.
- Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Root Cause tools and investigation leadership experience.
- Inspection accuracy analysis, Inspection Points (IP) and Plan (I-Plan) creation experience.
- Application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI/AMSE Y14.5), and Dimensional Inspection Techniques experience
- Systems Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Design, and/or Solid Mechanics experience.
- Infrequent on-call duty - approximately one week per quarter - primarily remote support with on-site presence seldom required.
- Able to work in manufacturing environment, including accessing ladders, stairs, and work platforms.

- Approved STEM Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience - OR - Approved STEM Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience - OR - Approved STEM PhD with 1 year of relevant experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
