Overview

Employment in this role is conditional upon successful execution of the contract by the client.

The Work

The Program Manager I is the main contact for team members and clients, plans and directs daily operations, and makes sure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Contractor's authorized representative for the technical and operational performance of all contracted services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact (POC) for communication, work assignments, and technical direction between the contracting team and clients.
  • Plan, direct, and control overall management and operational functions during normal business hours.
  • Provide advanced, timely communication regarding quasi-technical and programmatic matters to ensure all stakeholders receive accurate information.
  • Demonstrate excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail when reviewing and editing artifacts, reports, schedules, and team submissions.
  • Update, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of existing databases and data entry for project- or contract-related information.
  • Interpret and apply regulatory guidance, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), and other applicable policies.
  • Deliver superior customer service to internal stakeholders, subordinates, senior leaders, and partner organizations.
  • Respond effectively to inquiries and requests from staff and subordinate personnel.
  • Prepare recurring status reports detailing project progress, team status, and arising issues.
  • Monitor daily status and performance of assigned personnel, supporting timecard and leave submission processes.
  • Provide oversight for integrated schedules, risk registers, status reports, and other project artifacts submitted to leadership.
  • Coordinate and complete assigned project management tasks to support organizational initiatives throughout each project's lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of programmatic, fiscal, and legal governance in guiding subordinates and reporting to organizational officials.
  • Organize, analyze, and integrate data to achieve project milestones, conduct reviews, and ensure successful project completion.
  • Advise managers on changes related to project status, logistics, and key data impacting project execution.
  • Prepare and present reports addressing status, issues, risks, financials, and other requested information.
  • Ensure all procedures and database tools/applications are executed in accordance with policy and organizational direction.
  • Use project management tools, databases, applications, and web-portals to assist with responses to ad hoc assignments.
  • Validate and integrate project data, collaborating across departments or with subject matter experts to acquire and report on key facts and statistics.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a closely related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Alternatively, 10 years of commensurate experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior-level experience supporting high-operational tempo, multi-faceted organizations.
  • In-depth familiarity with FAR, DFAR, and related acquisition regulations required.
  • Program Manager Certification Level 1 (or equivalent recognized credential).
  • Top Secret Clearance is required.
  • Due to the nature of work at the client's facility, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Working Conditions
  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work onsite in the main office.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
