🔧 Position Overview

PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a Heat Treat Operator I to support heat-treating operations for a variety of aerospace and industrial materials. This role requires hands-on experience, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

🛠️ Job Responsibilities

• Perform heat treat operations for aluminum, titanium, nickel-based alloys, stainless steel, and alloy steels
• Support heat treat scheduling to ensure proper sequencing of product
• Operate, adjust, and perform routine maintenance on furnace controllers
• Assist with batching loads for optimal productivity under operator direction
• Set thermocouples and prepare loads for proper heat distribution (training provided)
• Load and unload furnaces
• Perform furnace accuracy and uniformity surveys
• Conduct hardness testing using calibrated equipment
• Interpret hardness ratings using measuring tools and standards
• Move parts on and off pallets; handle material safely
• Follow all company procedures, safety policies, and work instructions
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation

✅ Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of relevant manufacturing experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Understanding of heat treat processes and procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Forklift certification to approved O.S.H.A. standards
• Physical requirements include:
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
