About The Role

Peraton is seeking to hire an experienced Data Storage and Recovery Administrator/Engineer (DR/SAN/NAS) for its Regional Cyber Center-Europe program.

Location: On-site, Wiesbaden, Germany

Possibility of 2nd and 3rd Shift work.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain NetApp SAN/NAS storage systems running ONTAP, including volume provisioning, LUN management, NFS/CIFS share configuration, and performance monitoring to support RCC-E enterprise data storage requirements
  • Configure and manage NetApp SnapVault and SnapMirror replication policies to ensure data protection, off-site replication, and recovery point objectives (RPOs) are met across RCC-E data center environments
  • Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery (DR) plans and procedures, conducting scheduled DR exercises to validate recovery time objectives (RTOs) and ensure continuity of operations (COOP) for mission-critical Army systems
  • Administer Cisco MDS SAN fabric infrastructure including zoning, VSAN configuration, and fabric health monitoring to ensure reliable connectivity between storage arrays and host servers
  • Execute and monitor daily backup operations, validate backup job completion, manage tape/disk retention schedules, and perform data restoration testing to verify backup integrity and recoverability
  • Support data center operations including capacity planning, storage tiering, disk snapshot management, and coordination with Windows server teams to ensure storage resources align with evolving mission requirements

Qualifications

Required:
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a BS/BA degree. 11years without a degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Data Storage and Recovery Administration experience.
  • Must meet TESA Qualifications.
  • DoD 8140 - IT (System Administrator) - Advanced
  • Certifications - must hold active certifications (one of the following):
    • NCDA (NetApp Certified Data Administrator)
    • Veritas VCS (Veritas Certified Specialist)
    • Veritas VCP (Veritas Certified Professional)
  • Required hands-on experience with Cisco MDS SAN fabric, NetApp ONTAP (SnapVault, SnapMirror), and Windows Server 2012/2016; desired experience in data center operations, disk snapshots, storage replication, disaster recovery, U.S. Military Command and Control systems, and Network Services Support
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active DoD SECRET clearance
Preferred:
  • Deep familiarity with NetApp ONTAP administration including cluster management, aggregate/volume configuration, and QoS policy management
  • Experience with Veritas NetBackup or NetApp SnapCenter for enterprise backup and recovery operations
  • Working knowledge of Cisco MDS SAN fabric administration including zoning, ISL configuration, and fabric diagnostics
  • Familiarity with VMware vSphere storage integration (VMFS, NFS datastores, vSAN) in a DoD or enterprise environment
  • Experience developing and executing disaster recovery plans and COOP procedures for classified IT environments
  • Understanding of storage tiering strategies and capacity planning methodologies for large-scale data centers
  • Familiarity with DISA STIG requirements for storage systems and RMF compliance documentation
  • Experience supporting OCONUS Army or DoD data center operations

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
