MITRE's Strategic Non-Kinetic Effects Mission Center (SNKE) seeks a strategically focused, sponsor facing integration analyst, who can leverage the full-range of MITRE capabilities to meet sponsor requirements. The selected candidate will demonstrate strategic knowledge of economic principles, applied finance, and industry-relevant topics affecting the USAFRICOM area of responsibility (AOR).

Roles & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a consummate professional, whose analytic focus, expertise, and cross-corporation knowledge primes USAFRICOM's Defense Economics-related organizations to achieve Combatant Command (CCMD) objectives. The ideal candidate will fill critical knowledge gaps centered on AOR-informed economic analysis. The candidate will integrate economic and finance concepts, tools, and technologies to increase understanding of theater security challenges and inform Command national security decision making. The ideal candidate will have a functional understanding of macro- and micro-economic principles and applied finance to broader campaigning efforts, including course of action development and measures of effectiveness evaluation. This is a high-visibility, mission critical role that requires the candidate to deliver both verbal and written presentations that translate threat and vulnerability assessments and complex economic data into actionable products for senior military and interagency audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Possess and maintain a robust understanding of both industry and corporate tools, technologies, and methodologies relevant to the defense economics environment to connect sponsor requirements to existing capabilities and stakeholders
  • Strategically integrate existing economic- and finance- relevant capabilities into emerging Combatant Command requirements
  • Liaise between non-kinetic effects subject matter experts and acquisition professionals across the Department of War, MITRE, and other interagency organizations as well as relevant academia, think tank, and lab partners to leverage cutting-edge research, tools, and methodologies.
  • Analyze open-source and U.S. Government economic, finance, and industry data to inform decision-making, USAFRICOM's Common Operation Picture (COP), and economic opportunities for strategic effect.
  • Conduct rigorous economic risk and opportunity assessments that support USAFRICOM strategic and operational planning (e.g., illicit-market dynamics, critical-mineral supply-chain vulnerability, financing of violent non-state actors, cost-benefit analyses of capacity-building programs).
  • Develop and maintain quantitative and qualitative economic models, databases, and analytic products that translate complex data into actionable insights for senior leaders.
  • Provide recommendation briefs for capability-development, force-planning, and resource-allocation across planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE) cycles; articulate trade-offs and forecast budgetary impacts of proposed initiatives.
  • Contribute to experimentation, war-gaming, and red-teaming initiatives.
  • Synthesize findings into time-phased implementation roadmaps, identify quick-wins, and propose long-term economic-engagement strategies that reinforce U.S. strategic objectives in Africa.

Selected candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Senior Sponsor Experience: Comfortable engaging senior U.S. and partner-nation military officers, civilian policymakers, and commercial executives.
  • Flexibility: Be able to modify and alter course as priorities shift, sponsor requirements evolve, or crises emerge.
