INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Duties

• You will process all ordnance, ordnance details and associated components and hardware the command requisitions, referrals, receipts, issues, expenditures, and restows including associated follow-ups and statuses.
• You will act as a liaison between all tenant activities for which the Detachment performs geographical host reporting functions.
• You will take appropriate action to verify availability and issue of materials, determine substitutions or initiates referrals, coordinate actions to meet required delivery dates and priorities and initiate follow up status on requisitions.
• You will serve as Material Coordinator for all projects and programs.
• You will originate and respond to correspondence to appropriate activities and maintains communication with activities of all types.
• You will provide detailed technical advice and assistance in ordnance inventory management to support internal and external customers.
• You will perform analytical research for special projects and reports, such as, resolving reporting and in transit discrepancies, site out-of-balances, on occasion requires the additional use of the classified Ordnance Information System.
• You will receive and process all Naval Ammunition Reclassification (NAR), Ammunition Information Notices (AIN) and Overhead Fire (OHF) messages.
• You will train and assist field operations personnel on the general operation of the optical bar code scanner and the mechanics of scanning ordnance.
• You will maintain accurate site database information.
• You will analyze results of transactions and inventory reconciliations to identify causes of discrepancies and recommends appropriate changes to processes, procedures or automated systems to appropriate Field Operations personnel and management.
• You will perform inventories, inspections and audits in conjunction with field operations personnel.
• You will review incoming Fleet return material and makes determinations concerning utilization to meet load plan shortages.
• You will initiate stock replenishment to meet load plan requirements.

• This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
• You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Operating various Information Systems, Supply Systems, and Supply Discrepancy Reports in support of ordnance programs to plan, develop, and implement controls for ordnance inventory, projects, and duties, AND Conducting storage location explosive net weight changes and updates, and load plan updates AND Providing all transaction history and key supporting documentation for causative research package development and submission.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related

Tour of duty will be 36 months.
