Position Summary

The VCF Operations Consultant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and lifecycle management of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments within client environments. This role focuses on hands-on operational execution, including monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, and maintainingplatform stability.

This position works directly with client operations teams and internal stakeholders to ensure VCF environments are running efficiently and aligned to operational best practices. The consultant regularly uses VMware platforms including VCF, SDDC Manager, vSphere, NSX, and vSAN, and is expected to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver consistent results in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of VMware Cloud Foundation environments, including compute, network, and storage components

• Execute lifecycle activities such as upgrades, patching, and environment maintenance using SDDCManager

• Monitor platform health and respond to alerts, incidents, and performance issues

• Troubleshoot issues across vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and VCF management components

• Assist with environment configuration, capacity management, and performance optimization

• Collaborate with client teams to support incident resolution and operational improvements

• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, changes, and operational procedures

• Follow established operational processes, standards, and client-specific requirements

• Support onboarding of new workloads or infrastructure into existing VCF environments

Required Qualifications

• Current Experience supporting VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments, including the use of VCF Operations (formerly Aria Operations/vROps) for platform-wide monitoring, capacity planning, and performance management

• Familiarity with lifecycle management, upgrades, and patching of infrastructure platforms

• Experience with VMware technologies such as vSphere, NSX, vSAN, or SDDC Manager

• Experience troubleshooting infrastructure issues across compute, network, and storage

• Ability to manage multiple operational tasks and priorities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Relevant VMware certifications such as VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, or related tracks

Preferred Qualifications

• VCF 9 Knowledge: Experience with the unified VCF 9 console and its simplified networking workflows.

Required Skills

• Customer Consulting and Delivery: Ability to support client environments, communicate effectively, and deliver consistent operational outcomes

• VCF Platform Operations: Ability to support and maintain VCF environments across compute, network, and storage layers with operations tools i.e. vrops/vrealize operations/aria operation/vcf operations

• Lifecycle Management Execution: Ability to perform upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities using SDDC Manager

• Monitoring and Incident Response: Ability to monitor system health, respond to alerts, and resolve operational issues

• Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Ability to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues across the VCF stack

• Documentation and Communication: Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate clearly with stakeholders

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work with operations, infrastructure, and support teams to maintain environment stability
