Position Summary

The VCF 9 Senior Consultant is responsible for implementing, integrating, and supporting VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9) environments within client environments. This role focuses on hands-on delivery across the full platform, including deployment, brownfield integration, lifecycle management, and operational optimization.

This position works directly with client stakeholders to execute unified VCF solutions across compute, network, storage, and operations layers. The consultant is expected to operate independently, support complex environments, and deliver consistent outcomes aligned to the VCF 9 platform model, where infrastructure is managed as a single integrated system rather than siloed components.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and configure VCF 9 environments, including vSphere, vSAN (ESA), NSX, SDDC Manager, and Aria components

• Lead brownfield integration efforts by importing existing vSphere environments into the VCF framework using the VCF Import Tool

• Configure and support NSX networking, including Tier-0/Tier-1 routing, overlay networking, and VPC-based consumption models

• Implement platform-level security, including distributed firewalling and segmentation strategies

• Execute lifecycle operations, including upgrades, patching, and asynchronous maintenance using SDDC Manager

• Support monitoring, logging, and operational visibility through integrated Aria Operations and Log Management capabilities

• Troubleshoot complex issues across compute, network, storage, and management layers

• Collaborate with client stakeholders to validate requirements and ensure successful delivery outcomes

• Maintain clear documentation of configurations, changes, and operational procedures

Required Qualifications

• Experience implementing and operating VMware Cloud Foundation or software-defined data center environments

• Strong hands-on experience with NSX, including overlay networking, Tier-0/Tier-1 gateways, and routing

• Experience with vSAN, including modern architectures such as ESA or high-performance storage environments

• Experience performing lifecycle management activities such as upgrades, patching, and environment maintenance

• Experience working in client-facing or consulting environments

Required Skills

• Customer Consulting and Delivery: Ability to work directly with clients to implement solutions, manage expectations, and deliver successful outcomes

• VCF 9 Platform Implementation: Ability to deploy and integrate VCF components as a unified platform across compute, network, storage, and operations

• Brownfield Integration (VCF Import): Ability to migrate and onboard existing environments into the VCF framework

• NSX Networking and Security: Ability to configure routing, segmentation, distributed firewalling, and VPC-based networking models

• Lifecycle and Platform Operations: Ability to perform upgrades, patching, and ongoing environment management using SDDC Manager

• Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Ability to diagnose issues across the full VCF stack and implement sustainable solutions

• Documentation and Communication: Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with stakeholders
