Position Summary
The VCF Automation Senior Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing automation solutions within VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments. This role focuses on hands-on delivery of automation workflows, infrastructure-as-code, and orchestration to improve consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
This position works directly with client stakeholders and delivery teams to automate provisioning, lifecycle management, and operational processes across VCF environments. The consultant is expected to operate independently, contribute to solution design, and deliver high-quality automation outcomes in a fast-paced consulting environment.

- Develop and execute infrastructure-as-code and orchestration workflows to support repeatable deployments
- Automate VCF lifecycle activities such as upgrades, patching, and environment configuration
- Integrate automation across VCF components including vSphere, NSX, vSAN, SDDC Manager, and Aria platforms
- Identify manual processes and operational inefficiencies and implement automation-driven improvements
- Troubleshoot issues within automated workflows and underlying infrastructure components
- Collaborate with architects and client stakeholders to align automation solutions with platform design and operational requirements
- Maintain clear documentation of automation workflows, scripts, and configurations Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes effectively to client and internal stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Experience implementing automation solutions in VMware or cloud-based infrastructure environments
- Strong familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation, including vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and SDDC Manager
- Experience with scripting, orchestration, or infrastructure-as-code approaches
- Experience working in client-facing or consulting environments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced VMware certifications (e.g., VCAP Design/Deploy, VCP VCF Architect).
- Experience with: VCF Automation & Operations, Advanced Network Services (vDefend), AVI Load
- Balancing, Private AI Foundation, Live Recovery, Network Observability, Tanzu Technologies.
- Agile methodology experience or certification.
- Additional industry certifications (Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, etc.).
Required Skills
- Customer Consulting and Delivery: Ability to work directly with clients to design and implement automation solutions that align with business and operational goals
- VCF Automation Implementation: Ability to automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle operations across VCF environments
- Infrastructure as Code and Orchestration: Ability to develop and manage automation workflows using scripting, orchestration, and IaC approaches
- Platform Integration: Ability to integrate automation across compute, network, storage, and management layers
- Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Ability to diagnose issues within automated workflows and underlying infrastructure
- Documentation and Communication: Ability to document automation processes and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work with architects, operations teams, and engineers to deliver automation solutions
