Senior Systems Engineer / SW Developer (Eagle I)

Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is staffing for a Senior Systems Engineer / SW Developer to support United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Joint Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AISR) and its mission partners in supporting combat forces ability to access immediate access to battlefield information.

This position provides broad systems engineering and administration support for C2ISR Data Transport Infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient operation of global transport infrastructure system across diverse network environments.

This position is located at Pope Army Airfield, Fort Bragg, NC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support includes, but is not limited to:

• Plans and leads on-site systems engineering efforts for critical C2ISR infrastructure, ensuring direct technical expertise and immediate mission-critical capabilities.
• Drives the strategic development of on-site engineering strategies and procedures for implementing advanced technological solutions.
• Functions as a technical expert in identifying and evaluating optimal technical, architectural, and systematic ways ahead for C2ISR integration activities, planned expansions, and site activations.
• Oversees the design, deployment, and verification of complex C2ISR hardware and software systems at various on-site locations, including classified environments.
• Provides expert guidance to FSRs, project managers, and operational personnel on complex system issues, integration challenges, and technical support best practices.
• Leads the management and sustainment of secure enterprise cross domains at AISR data dissemination hubs, ensuring seamless and secure data flow.
• Mentors and supervises journeyman and junior Systems Engineers, fostering skill development and ensuring consistency in solution quality and adherence to best practices.
• Conducts advanced architectural analysis and design validation, ensuring that on-site implementations align with overall system objectives and performance requirements.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of on-site systems engineering solutions, identifying trends, and recommending major changes to enhance resilience and optimize C2ISR capabilities.
• Develops integrated strategies for network configuration management, performance monitoring, and technological resource optimization.
• Implements systematic monitoring protocols for technological systems, network components, and user access management.
• Supports the coordination of Authorized Service Interruptions (ASIs) and troubleshooting across C2ISR transport infrastructure systems.

Required Qualifications

Must have some experience with the following:

• Role Specific Tools:
• Systems Integration Lab (SIL) environments
• Tri Domain Lab (IL4/IL5/IL6 enclaves with VRF routing, FIPS 140-3/HAIPE crypto, PTP/GPSDO time sync)
• Golden Test Packs and Test Readiness Review (TRR) frameworks (test matrix, golden data hashes, SLO compliance charts, rollback plans) CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
• Automated deployment tools (Ansible, Terraform)
• Automated testing frameworks (Selenium, pytest, JUnit)
• Security scanning tools (SCAP, Nessus, SonarQube)
• Performance testing tools (Apache JMeter, LoadRunner)
• Monitoring dashboards (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Bug tracking systems (JIRA, Azure DevOps)
• Documentation repositories (Confluence, SharePoint)

Education:

Must have ONE of the following degrees:

• BS Computer Science
• BS Cybersecurity
• BS Data Science
• BS Information Systems
• BS Information Technology
• BS Software Engineering

Certification:

Must have at least ONE of the following certifications and complete and additional DoD 8140 WRC 451 Element CS, Work Role: Systems Administrator; Proficiency Level: Intermediate as required, to include DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment:

• GICSP
• GSEC
• CompTIA Security+
• SSCP

Clearance:

• Must have a current TS/SCI

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
