Position Overview:
Seeking a Power BI UI Developer to design and deliver executive‑level dashboards supporting a CIO‑level Enterprise Common Operational Picture (COP). This role focuses on transforming complex enterprise data into clear, decision‑ready visualizations that support IT operations, performance management, risk visibility, and mission readiness.
This is a high‑priority, customer‑requested effort with direct exposure to senior leadership and enterprise stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Dashboard Development
- Develop Power BI dashboards and reports for CIO and executive leadership
- Deliver enterprise‑level views of operational performance, system health, and mission readiness
- Support real‑time situational awareness and executive decision‑making
Data Visualization & UI Design
- Design intuitive, executive‑friendly dashboards using Power BI best practices
- Build visualizations including: KPI scorecards, Operational status indicators, Trend and performance analysis, Risk heatmaps, Portfolio and enterprise performance dashboards.
- Optimize layouts for clarity, speed, and minimal cognitive load
Data Integration & Reporting:
- Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems (operational, financial, performance)
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure authoritative and reliable data sources
- Support integrations via SQL databases, APIs, and enterprise data platforms
Data Modeling & Performance:
- Develop efficient Power BI data models using DAX
- Optimize reports for performance, scalability, and enterprise workloads
- Ensure dashboards support large datasets
Governance & Security:
- Apply data governance and security controls
- Implement role‑based access control (RBAC) in Power BI Service
- Maintain standardized KPIs and consistent enterprise reporting
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work with CIO leadership, enterprise architects, engineers, and program stakeholders
- Translate business and operational requirements into effective dashboards and reports
Required Qualifications:
- DoD Secret Security Clearance (active or eligible)
- Security+ CE (required)
- 4+ years of Power BI dashboard and report development
Strong experience with:
- Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service
- DAX, Power Query (M)
- Data modeling (star schema, relationships)
- Experience with SQL databases and enterprise data sources
