This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Must successfully complete a DoD approved Police Training Academy or equivalent course, e.g. Navy Police Officer Academy; a federal or military police academy; or equivalent law enforcement training. Must also successfully complete any annual sustainment training, Level 1 Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) contamination training (if applicable), and OC refresher training.
Physical demands: Work requires extended periods of physical exertion derived from such activities as running, walking, standing, bending or driving and occasionally lifting, pushing and/or carrying items weighing 50 pounds or more. Requires stamina, physical agility, dexterity, and the strength to pursue, arrest or detain. The incumbent may be required to push or drag heavy weights of 150 pounds or more. Will undergo routine training in defensive tactics, handcuffing and firearms qualifications.
Work environment: Work is performed in an environment, which involves exposure to regular, and recurring discomforts such as extreme variations in weather conditions while directing traffic and performing walking patrols. Incumbent may be exposed to high levels of noise in certain industrial settings, destructive weather, or higher Force Protection conditions. Work involves moderate and high risks and possible endangerment of life or serious injury that requires the exercise of safety precautions and use of personal protective equipment such as vests, coats, gloves, boots, goggles, masks, shields, etc. Incumbent may also be subject to uncomfortable conditions where basic facilities may not be provided or functional.

- You will control access of pedestrians or vehicular traffic to restricted areas.
