Cloud Operations Technician (Mid-Level)

Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Mid-Level Cloud Operations Technician to support the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. This role supports day-to-day operations of cloud-based environments, ensuring system availability, performance, and reliability across development, test, and production systems.

The Cloud Operations Technician works closely with DevSecOps engineers, system administrators, and development teams to support deployments, monitor system health, and troubleshoot issues.

The IBS technology stack includes Angular (TypeScript) and Java (Spring Boot), and this role requires familiarity with supporting these applications in cloud and containerized environments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Cloud Environment Operations

• Monitor and maintain cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred)
• Support system availability, uptime, and performance
• Perform patching, updates, and routine system checks

Deployment & Release Support

• Support application deployments with DevSecOps and Release teams
• Assist with container deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Validate system functionality after deployments

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Monitor system health using logging and monitoring tools
• Analyze logs and metrics to identify issues
• Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and integration issues

Cloud & System Maintenance

• Maintain cloud configurations and environments
• Support backup and recovery processes
• Ensure stable and consistent system configurations

Security & Compliance Support

• Support security configurations and controls
• Assist with STIG and RMF compliance
• Work with IA and DevSecOps to resolve vulnerabilities

Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with development, DevSecOps, and infrastructure teams
• Maintain runbooks and operational documentation
• Support knowledge sharing and process improvement

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance
• IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE required)
• 3+ years of cloud operations or system administration experience
• Experience with AWS or cloud environments
• Experience with Linux systems and Bash scripting
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Angular (TypeScript) and Java (Spring Boot) environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred

• Experience supporting DoD or USTRANSCOM systems
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs and RMF requirements
• Experience with CI/CD deployment processes
• Experience with AWS GovCloud
• Familiarity with Terraform or Ansible
• Experience supporting high-availability systems
