Job Description

Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to support the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. This role is responsible for leading secure, automated software delivery through CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and security integration.

We are looking for an engineer who designs and improves systems that enable reliable, scalable, and secure delivery. You will lead the evolution of GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes environments, and DevSecOps practices.

The IBS technology stack includes Angular (TypeScript) and Java (Spring Boot), and this role requires strong familiarity with these technologies to support pipeline design, build optimization, and troubleshooting.

Duties & Responsibilities

CI/CD Architecture & Automation

  • Design and lead implementation of GitLab CI/CD pipelines
  • Establish reusable pipeline standards across teams
  • Optimize build performance, reliability, and scalability


Platform & Container Strategy

  • Lead Kubernetes architecture and deployment strategies using Helm
  • Ensure stable and scalable environments across all system stages
  • Troubleshoot complex system and cluster-level issues


Security Integration

  • Lead integration of Fortify, SonarQube, and security tooling into pipelines
  • Establish secure development and deployment practices
  • Ensure compliance with DoD security requirements (STIGs, RMF)


Cross-Team Leadership

  • Partner with Angular and Java teams to improve workflows and delivery pipelines
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to mid-level engineers
  • Drive adoption of DevSecOps best practices across teams


Documentation & Standards

  • Define and maintain DevSecOps standards, runbooks, and system documentation
  • Promote well-documented, maintainable systems


Continuous Improvement

  • Lead evaluation of tools and practices with a focus on simplicity and scalability
  • Drive improvements in developer experience and system performance


Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE required)
  • 5-7+ years of DevSecOps/DevOps experience
  • Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD
  • Strong Linux and Bash scripting expertise
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
  • Experience integrating Fortify, SonarQube, or similar tools
  • Strong familiarity with Angular (TypeScript) and Java (Spring Boot)
  • Strong troubleshooting and system-level problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills


Preferred

  • Experience supporting DoD or USTRANSCOM systems
  • Knowledge of DISA STIGs and RMF processes
  • Experience with AWS (GovCloud preferred)
  • Experience supporting microservices architectures
  • Experience leading DevSecOps or platform engineering efforts
