Sherpa 6, Inc has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Integrator on an Army Trail Boss Team plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technology development and the warfighter. Operating at the intersection of technical expertise and operational understanding, they ensure that complex systems are not only integrated seamlessly but are also effective and user-friendly for soldiers in the field.
The Systems Integrator shall be experienced in all manner of tactical and strategic DoD communications. The primary purpose of a Systems Integrator on a Trail Boss Team is to provide the technical leadership and oversight necessary for the successful integration, evaluation, and fielding of new and upgraded military systems. This is especially crucial in the context of the Army's Network Integration Evaluations (NIEs), where numerous systems are assessed simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
Technical Liaison: Acting as the primary technical point of contact between the soldiers of the evaluating unit and the various government and industry organizations providing the systems. This involves translating complex engineering and acquisition terminology into clear, operational language for the soldiers.

The proposed salary range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience, and skill levels. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.

Responsibilities:

- System of Systems Integration: Ensuring that individual systems, which may come from different developers, can communicate and operate together effectively as a cohesive "system of systems." This involves understanding and managing the intricate web of hardware and software interfaces.
- Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the integration and testing of new equipment. This requires a deep understanding of the systems' technical specifications and operational employment.
- Technical Guidance and Training: Providing subject matter expertise to soldiers on the proper operation, employment, and maintenance of the systems under evaluation. This can involve developing and delivering training programs.
- Requirements Management: Working to ensure that the systems being developed and tested meet the operational needs of the warfighter. This may involve analyzing and decomposing high-level requirements into more detailed specifications. Support interoperability testing with all applicable stakeholders within the area of operation for dedicated assets.
- Interact with other programs and systems to ensure their dependencies are understood and integrated into solutions.
Requirements
- Technical Planning and Coordination: Participating in the conceptual development of integration projects and coordinating engineering activities across multiple programs.
- Integration and Testing: Overseeing the physical and software integration of new equipment onto military vehicle platforms and in command post environments. This includes designing and validating network configurations.
- Data Analysis and Evaluation: Analyzing data from system tests and soldier feedback to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Documentation and Reporting: Preparing technical reports, briefing materials, and other documentation to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Risk Management: Proactively identifying and mitigating technical risks that could impact the success of an integration event or fielding.
Preferred Experience:
- Tactical communications and radio experience (PRC-148C, PRC-163C, MPU-5, PRC-169, 117G/152A, etc.)
- Ability to configure routers, switches, and bridge disparate networks
- Experience with Docker, Ansible, and containerized services
- Experience with Postgres database management and CLI-based queries
- Knowledge of tactical and commercial satellite systems
- Knowledge of commercial and tactical cellular technologies
- Experience with certificate lifecycle management
- Familiarity with audio/video and networking industry standards
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in dynamic operational environments
