ABOUT THE ROLE

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is a hands-on, on-site role responsible for maintaining, repairing, and quality-checking Nooks' commercial and classified facilities. This individual is the first responder for facility issues after delivery and a critical quality assurance resource during build and fit-out phases.

This role bridges the gap between construction, operations, and industrial security. The ideal candidate is a skilled, reliable problem-solver who takes pride in well-maintained spaces and understands the importance of speed, discretion, and quality in classified environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform day-to-day maintenance and minor repairs across occupied commercial and classified workspaces.
• Repair and patch drywall; perform painting and touch-ups to maintain a professional finish.
• Adjust, repair, and align doors, locks, and hardware.
• Address flooring issues, ceiling tiles, trim, and other finish elements.
• Conduct light HVAC maintenance (filters, vents, basic troubleshooting) and coordinate with vendors for larger issues.
• Serve as a QA resource during construction and build-out of classified facilities.
• Conduct walkthroughs to identify punch-list items, workmanship issues, and deviations from design or standards.
• Coordinate closely with construction partners while ensuring issues are documented and resolved.
• Support hardware installation during client move-ins.
• Escort cleared vendors (e.g., cleaners, maintenance providers) and verify quality of work.
• Perform light cleaning and upkeep of lobbies and common areas to ensure guest-ready conditions.
• Support rapid turnaround on client-reported issues in occupied SCIFs and office spaces.
• Track maintenance issues and repairs to ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain discretion and compliance when working in classified environments.
• Support day to day facility security operations and ensure compliance with NISPOM, 32 CFR Part 117 and customer requirements; and assist with incident reporting and security practices and protocol

THE SKILLSET:

• 5+ years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience in large commercial office, government, or secure environments
• Strong working knowledge of:
• Drywall repair and painting
• Door, lock, and hardware adjustment
• Basic HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting
• General building systems and finishes
• Experience performing punch-list and QA walkthroughs during construction or renovation projects is preferred
• Ability to work independently, prioritize issues, and respond quickly in occupied spaces
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Comfortable working in secure and classified environments with professionalism and discretion
• Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset

COMPENSATION

• $85,000 Base Salary

ELIGIBILITY + CLEARANCE

You must be eligible to work in the U.S.Candidates must be capable of maintaining eligibility up to the Top Secret/SCI level within 45 days of hire.
