Overview
We are seeking a GNC Engineer with real-time programming experience to support development of 6 degree of freedom (6DOF) missile simulations for use in a hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) environment. The candidate will perform software development related to missile simulation implementation, hardware initialization and control, data processing, analysis, and visualization. This role requires practical experience in C and C++ software development on Linux platforms, along with an understanding of missile dynamics, physics-based simulation, and numerical methods. The candidate will be expected to support execution of real-time 6DOF simulations, perform independent studies of missile performance, and present concepts and results to project engineers and technical working groups.
Pay Range $125,000 - 203,000
The pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, geographic location, and any applicable laws.

Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and maintain 6DOF GNC simulations for missile and flight vehicle applications in a real-time HWIL environment.
- Implement simulation software for guidance, navigation, and control algorithms, missile dynamics, subsystem behavior, and engagement scenarios.
- Support hardware initialization and control, data handling, analysis, and visualization associated with HWIL simulation execution.
- Perform engineering analysis and system performance studies using simulation outputs to assess vehicle behavior, algorithm performance, and mission effectiveness.
- Build and maintain simulation execution workflows, including configuration management, automated scenario execution, data capture, and regression support.
- Create tools and utilities to run scenarios, log results, process data, and generate engineering reports and presentations.
- Work in Linux development environments, including command-line compilation, remote connectivity, and software integration activities.
- Collaborate with systems, software, and test teams to translate requirements into simulation capabilities and verification coverage.
- Present technical concepts, findings, and recommendations to internal engineering teams and customer technical working groups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Engineering; Aerospace Engineering preferred but not required.
- Minimum five (5) years of engineering experience related to programming, simulation development, or system performance analysis.
- Strong experience in C and C++ development, preferably in Linux environments.
- Working knowledge of real-time simulations in a hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) environment.
- Experience with programming for engineering analysis and simulation-based performance assessment.
- General knowledge of flight vehicle dynamics, subsystem function, and 6DOF execution concepts.
- General knowledge of physics-based simulation and numerical methods.
- Working knowledge of Linux environments, including command-line operations, compiling from the command line, and remote system connectivity.
- Experience using version control tools such as Git.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Nice to have
- Experience with Common Simulation Framework (CSF).
- Experience with RedHawk Linux or other real-time Linux environments.
- Experience writing or contributing to technical reports, briefings, and engineering presentations.
- Familiarity with scientific and simulation visualization tools such as MATLAB and SIMDIS.
- Experience supporting missile simulation, flight dynamics modeling, or GNC algorithm development in laboratory or HWIL settings.
- Familiarity with automated test execution, data reduction, and simulation result visualization workflows.
Security requirements
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active Secret security clearance required.
