Overview:
JHNA is seeking a Project Engineer to support our Army Aviation customer within the Army Launched Effects (LE) Product Office. This position will require on-site/in person support at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Roles/Responsibilities:
The role requires a strong understanding of systems engineering and project management principles, with a focus on complex systems involving LE Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UASs).
- Contribute to the efforts of multi-disciplined project teams to execute program goals.
- Provide technical leadership with Launched Effects, including component-level modifications and modernization.
- Monitor cost, schedule, and performance for technical activities, and test schedules.
- Provide technical leadership in the development of acquisition plans, scopes of work, performance work statements, and contract requirements packages (CRP).
- Investigate and resolve technical discrepancies, identify root causes, and lead the team to develop and implement corrective actions.
- Identify technical risks and issues and lead a team to develop effective solutions.
- Prepare written reports and briefings and formally present technical and programmatic information to senior management, program managers, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate component modification and upgrade issues with other government agencies, ensuring seamless integration and communication.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including test reports, engineering change orders, and other acquisition-related documents.
- Support the build and testing of rapid prototypes to validate design concepts.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related field).
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance
- Demonstrated experience in the identification of technical risks and leading a team to develop a solution.
- Experience in performing Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership on defense acquisitions programs.
- Strong experience preparing written reports and briefings and formally presenting to senior management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications Desired:
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA).
- Experience with UAS or missile systems development and/or fielding.
- Experience with payload integration (e.g., sensors, communication packages, kinetic effects).
- Familiarity with Guidance, Navigation, and Command and Control (C2) systems.
- Experience with military datalinks and communication protocols.
- Engineering experience with RADAR, Electronic Warfare, or Kinetic.
- Experience and understanding of the System of Systems Engineering processes and their application to the product life cycle.
- Experience with DoD acquisition processes, especially with rapid prototyping and fielding initiatives (e.g., Other Transaction Authority (OTA), Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO)).
- Experience with the procurement of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) military hardware.
- Familiarity with DoD specifications and standards (e.g., MIL-STD).
