Position Title: Software / Systems Engineer I – Systems Administrator
Status: Permanent
Location: Charleston, SC or New Orleans, LA on-site

Scope of Work: The Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC LANT) Cloud Computing Innovation, Transformation, and Integration (CLOUD CITI) Division is tasked with providing hosting environments and platforms for Navy applications, as well as other DoD and Homeland Security (HLS) applications utilizing both Component Enterprise Data Centers (CEDCs) and Commercial Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) as hosting platforms. As part of the program, the ServiceNow Engineering role supports the administration, configuration, and development of the ServiceNow platform in alignment with enterprise IT service management and operational requirements. This role is responsible for maintaining platform stability, implementing enhancements, and supporting secure, scalable solutions across ITSM and related modules.

Key Responsibilities:
• Administer, configure, and maintain the ServiceNow platform to support daily operational requirements
• Develop and implement ServiceNow solutions including workflows, Service Catalog items, and automation using Flow Designer and scripting
• Support core ITSM processes (Incident, Request, Change, Problem, Knowledge) through configuration and enhancement
• Manage user accounts, roles, groups, and access controls in compliance with security policies
• Perform system upgrades, patching support, and platform maintenance activities
• Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, import sets, and data sources
• Support CMDB data population, reconciliation, and data quality efforts
• Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Maintain system documentation including configurations, procedures, and operational runbooks
• Support implementation and maintenance of security controls, including access controls, data protection, and audit readiness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions
• Participate in Agile development processes and support CI/CD and testing activities

Requirements/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
• Required ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or equivalent ServiceNow certification (ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or CIS-ITSM or CIS-SPM)
• Required CompTIA Security+ certification or CASP or CISSP
• 3+ years of professional experience in systems administration or platform support including
o Supporting enterprise applications or platforms (e.g., ServiceNow or similar)
o Managing user accounts, roles, and access controls
o Performing system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting
o Supporting secure system operations in compliance with organizational policies
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow platform configuration and administration
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting concepts
• Understanding of ServiceNow data model, including CMDB fundamentals
• Experience with ITSM modules and Service Catalog
• Familiarity with system integration methods (REST/SOAP, import sets)
• Knowledge of system security practices including RBAC, auditing, and vulnerability remediation
• Ability to troubleshoot application and system-level issues
• Preferred Experience with:
o CMDB implementation and CSDM alignment
o Integration Hub
o Service Portfolio Management (SPM)
o UI Builder / Workspaces
o Employee Service Center
• Familiarity with AWS or cloud-hosted environments
• Experience with Agile/SAFe, Jira, Git, and Confluence
• Exposure to test automation (ATF) and CI/CD pipelines
• Demonstrated familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and general networking concepts, including experience with F5 load balancing technologies and traffic management principles
• Strong problem-solving and design skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills
• Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Ability to work in a self-guided manner and excellent organizational skills
• Must be a US citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) TOP SECRET Security Clearance
