- You will be responsible for the movement of personnel between projects while ensuring the proper mix of personnel are available to perform the assigned tasks.
- You will advise management on the selection of personnel for travel by evaluating the Volunteer Travel List, qualifications, training, and skill levels.
- You will brief shop managers and recommend corrective action regarding problems with coordination between shops and project teams.
- You will submit travel requests and track travel orders.
- You will maintain timekeeping, regular pay, and overtime for employees on travel.
- You will coordinate travel for nuclear and non-nuclear mechanics/supervisors and monitor various aspects of training, leave, shop operations and administrative support.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- You will be required to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications

- Experience with pipefitting or insulation for repair and modernization of ships and submarines.
- Experience utilizing qualifications/certifications and certification trees within the WAYPOINTS system for pipefitting or insulation required for assignment perform work onboard ships and submarines.
- Experience establishing and maintaining logs, records, or databases to track employee interest and availability for off base work, current location, qualifications and training, and similar information.
- Experience with conventional manpower and organizational control, theories, principles, and practices that govern manpower authorization and manning plans.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience with nuclear and non-nuclear production trade and technical methods, procedures, materials and processes associated with the repair and overhaul of complex Navy vessels.
- Experience planning and coordinating complex ship repair, overhaul, and installation projects to understand scheduling, resource, and qualification requirements.
- Experience assisting with project management, quality control, cost control, schedule control, and workflow control techniques.
