We are seeking a strong Senior Oracle Database Administrator to support the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) to help in the hardening, securing, and administration of Oracle databases. Candidates must be passionate, energized, and excited to work on modern architectures and solve challenging problems for our clients.

Position Description (what you will do)

  • Provide expert level database support for large complex Oracle databases in a production AWS environment
  • Develop and oversee database objects such as tables, views and stored procedures
  • Monitor the running status of the database continually and optimise it as per its scope for improvement
  • Implement security policies that will act as a shield of protection to the database and update the security protocols periodically
  • Provide patching and updates of systems on a periodic basis and as needed
  • Create hardened Oracle Database AMI images to be consumed and customized by application teams
  • Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to new and existing Oracle databases
  • Provide input to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes
  • Author Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate the hardening, image build, and STIG process
  • Monitor large-scale (multi-terabyte) Oracle databases, and assist app teams in performance tuning, backup and restore, and disaster recovery
  • Extend technical know-how to the team on how to effectively use the database


Requirements:

  • Five-plus years Oracle database administration
  • Three-plus years deploying Oracle databases to AWS-based cloud environments
  • Three-plus years implementing security policies to Oracle databases
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance


Nice to Have:

  • Three-plus years Terraform
  • Experience with Python or a similar scripting language
  • Experience with large migration of data across systems
  • Experience supporting AI/ML capabilities
