Duties
The position serves as the Security Police NCOIC for the ANG Security Police Squadron tenant on an active duty, AFRES or other DOD component. Aggressively facilitates, and leads security police programs at an Air National Guard Base, to include installation security, air base ground defense, conventional weapon systems security, law enforcement, training, resource protection, information security, personnel security, industrial security, wartime information security, and security classification management. This position also supervises one State employee.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
Education
There are no specific educational requirements for this position. However, substitution of Education for Specialized Experience is allowed.

Duties:
- Plans, organizes, and directs security police activities.
- Plans, organizes and directs activities and programs to support base activities such as; security, resource protection, law enforcement, and information security programs.
- Coordinates and develops contingency plans for confrontation management, base defense, information and personnel security and resource protection plans.
- Coordinates the deployment of personnel and individual and unit equipment.
- Develops and implements policies to ensure program effectiveness and efficient use of personnel and equipment.
- Coordinates detailed procedures and instructions for such functions as prevention of unauthorized entry of restricted areas and mission essential resources, use of personnel and equipment.
- Administers security police training programs.
- Plans for the employment of electronic physical security equipment to ensure the most efficient and economical devices are implemented to achieve required levels of security consistent with existing threat levels.
- Performs others duties as assigned.

- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- The incumbent of this position description must have at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program and Veterans Preference.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
