Job Description

Duties

  • Serve as the Officer and Enlisted Performance Report Program Manager.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates multiple electronic and manual office records and numerous types of databases.
  • Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations directives to ensure all Group Commander needs are met.
  • Serve as the groups Cost Center Manager for day-to-day oversight of resources and finances.
  • Ensure completion of required administrative duties.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the installation, wing and group functions, programs, organizational structure, functions, and administrative policies and procedures. Skill in analyzing and evaluating administrative procedures and practices and in adapting or developing procedures to improve overall administrative operations. Ability to coordinate distinguished visitor visits with Wing protocol. Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative in fact-finding, compiling data, arranging in format for presentation. Ability to communicate ideas and recommendations clearly and completely in either oral or written for. Knowledge of various office automation software processing procedures and function keys and the similarities and differences among software types to produce a wide range of documents, such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic files, and to update and revise existing database or spreadsheets. Knowledge of standard office equipment, such as electric/electronic typewriter, copiers, fax machines, and office automation systems to perform a substantial range of office automation support. A fully qualified typist is required. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and commonly used specialized terminology to prepare material correctly, and Knowledge of a body of rules, procedures, or operations applicable to clerical assignments, such as preparing various routine correspondence/reports, maintaining files/records, and reviewing and processing mail.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
  • Knowledge of Group missions, major issues, goals, objectives, and organizational structure.
  • Ability to plan and organize work. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of the theory and principles of management and organization including administrative practices and procedures common to the organization.
  • Requires skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration and resolution al issues or problems of a financial nature.
  • Ability to develop, prepare, coordinate, staff and implement administrative procedures, programs and directives.
  • Knowledge of sources, responsibilities and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems.

  • PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

    VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
