High Performance Engineering (HPC) (SME)

This position activities

• Deep understanding of HPC systems and architecture, including hardware components, software stack, parallel computing, and facility infrastructure
• Significant experience with HPC-specific software and tools (e.g., job schedulers, resource manager, high-speed network fabrics, parallel file systems, debugging tools)
• Significant experience characterizing HPC systems and architecture to identify system metrics (system performance, system computer hardware, system utilization) and user metrics (user composition, workload profiles, user software/codes
• Strong understanding of security practices associated with managing HPC systems
• Extensive experience identifying vulnerabilities in HPC programs and systems
• Strong understanding of the system administration and IT requirements for managing HPC systems and users
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practice
• Experience working with national labs on emerging technology intel challenge Experience positively developing relationships and matrixed teams
• Action-oriented
• Detail-oriented; Ability to document and share details to convey messaging in a simplified way to a target audience
