Business Systems Analyst IV - Business Intelligence Developer (Remote)
Location: Washington, DC (Remote Eligible) | Security Clearance: Public Trust
About the Role
Join Leidos as a Business Systems Analyst IV, where you'll drive digital modernization for federal government clients. In this high-impact, fully remote role, you will lead the development of advanced business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI and Azure data services. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to deliver critical data-driven insights, modernize reporting processes, and enable smarter decision-making across multiple domains.
Responsibilities
- Partner with key stakeholders to analyze business requirements and translate them into actionable reporting solutions
- Design, develop, and implement operational and analytical dashboards, reports, and data extracts using Power BI and Microsoft BI stack
- Reengineer and optimize existing reports and dashboards to leverage Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL Managed Instances
- Analyze ETL processes and diverse data sources (SQL Server, SSAS cubes) to ensure accurate data transformations
- Tune and optimize report performance, including DAX queries, Power Query, and data models for high efficiency
- Collaborate with business analysts, data modelers, architects, and engineers to support robust data models and transformations
- Ensure data quality and compliance with established data governance policies
- Support Power BI administration, including workspace and access management, monitoring, and resource optimization
- Incorporate AI/ML features (e.g., Power BI Copilot) to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities
- Provide user support, assist with Help Desk issues, and deliver end-user training
- Actively engage in Agile DevOps processes and continuous skill development
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years in business intelligence or a Master's with 6+ years; advanced technical knowledge
- 4+ years hands-on Power BI experience (Cloud Service, Desktop, Report Server)
- Strong background with Microsoft BI Stack (Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS)
- Advanced skills in SQL, TSQL, DAX, MDX, Power Query, and multi-dimensional data models
- Proven ability to gather requirements from business users and deliver impactful reports and dashboards
- Experience with Azure-based data tools (Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Analysis Services)
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Demonstrated success working both independently and in cross-functional teams
- Eligible to obtain a government-issued Public Trust clearance
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting federal government projects
- Familiarity with reporting in legal, HR, finance, inventory, and property management domains
- Certifications in Power BI or Microsoft Azure Data Analytics
- Knowledge of data governance, Design Thinking, and Human-Centered Design practices
