Embedded Software Developer
This role supports ETS Development as an Embedded Software Developer focused on designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining embedded software solutions. The engineer will work as part of a collaborative development team contributing to embedded software products throughout the full development lifecycle.
Job Roles
- Design, develop, debug, and modify embedded software systems.
- Participate in peer code reviews and collaborate within a larger development team.
- Develop and maintain support software that interfaces with embedded systems.
- Conduct developer‑level testing and integration testing for all developed software.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for software implementations, processes, and tools.
- Support integration efforts and assist with troubleshooting across development and test environments.
Job Requirements
- Experience with low‑level programming in Windows, Linux, or real‑time operating systems (e.g., VxWorks, uC/OS, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded development.
- Experience developing scripts or tooling using Python.
- Familiarity with embedded software development lifecycle practices.
- Experience automating tests for embedded software running on target hardware or embedded devices.
- Exposure to embedded system test frameworks or custom test harness development.
Education & Experience Requirements
- 10 years of experience as an embedded software developer supporting programs of similar scope, complexity, and technical requirements.
- 4 additional years of directly related embedded development experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
