Job Description
Senior Business Development Analyst
McLaughlin Research Corp. is seeking a Senior Business Development Analyst to establish and enforce disciplined growth processes across all business development pipelines. This role owns the “operating system of revenue” — including opportunity identification, qualification, gate reviews, CRM hygiene, calendar discipline, forecast accuracy, and proposal readiness tracking. This position focuses on “how MRC runs its growth process”, not technical solution design.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Generation
Oversee scanning and qualification of opportunities across:
Traditional government contracts (e.g., SeaPort NxG)
Non-traditional vehicles (OTAs, OASIS, consortium models)
Defense industry direct contracts
Maintain a clean, accurate CRM pipeline
Eliminate stale or low-probability pursuits
Drive to reduce manual tasks in the pipeline
Conduct market and opportunity analysis
Gate Reviews & Governance
Establish and enforce stage-gate process
Schedule and manage bid/no-bid reviews
Ensure capture plans are documented and approved
Maintain executive visibility into opportunity status
Forecasting & Metrics
Maintain accurate bookings forecasts
Track coverage ratios (e.g., 3–5× pipeline coverage)
Report win-rate analytics and pipeline health metrics
Provide weekly dashboard to VP of Revenue and CEO
Proposal Process Discipline
Coordinate proposal readiness reviews
Ensure compliance timelines are met
Maintain proposal calendar visibility
Partner with technical and pricing leads to prevent schedule slippage
Cross-Pipeline Coordination
Standardize processes across all three revenue streams
Ensure consistent governance between traditional, non-traditional, and partner-based pursuits
Act as neutral enforcer of discipline
McLaughlin Research Corporation offers a competitive benefit plan to employees and their eligible family members that includes health, dental, vision, life, and disability plans, paid holidays, accrued leave, accrued vacation, 401K, profit sharing, as well as, any other state or federally required benefits.
