Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience with authoring and contributing to Local Process Specification (LPS); 2) Experience in industrial and materials processing of aerospace materials; 3) Experience working as a machinist is desired; 4) Experience in creating general policies and procedures required to operate in a machine shop.

- You will serve as the Senior Engineering Technician in the Metals and Ceramics Branch.
- You will conduct research and development of machining, grinding, lapping and polishing methods/processes for aeronautical and support equipment components including tooling and fixturing, heat treating and surface finishing requirements.
- You will lead local and national projects and programs and conduct special technique development within the field of expertise including the training and certification of personnel.
- You will manufacture, repair or monitor processes involving the use of advanced techniques and equipment and other testing and analysis requiring an advanced level of expertise.
- You will coordinate training personnel in machine shop practices and safety and demonstrate and provide written instructions, reference materials, needed supplies and equipment to support machine shop use.
