I have the ability to perform normal duties such as driver's maintenance in accordance with established regulations and loading and unloading of passengers. I can complete vehicle utilization records and driver's accident report when necessary, and work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

- Operate passenger bus with rated capacity of 21 passengers and above, on scheduled and special long and short trips.
- Assure maximum capacity regulation is observed and only authorized personnel transported.
- Maintain control of the vehicle and equipment during medical events ensuring the comfort and safety of medical staff and patients.
- Observe time schedules and follows prescribed routes.
- Complete trip tickets and fill out accident reports when applicable in compliance with established polices.
- Report any misbehavior of passengers.
- Load and unload the vehicle and may at times require help from other workers.
- Ensure that the vehicle is not overloaded, and that the cargo is properly protected and secured.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random drug testing, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

- This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Motor Vehicle Operators are required to have a valid state driver's license with a minimum Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements for Air Brakes and carrying of up to 44 passengers.

- Physical Effort: Drivers at this grade level exert physical efforts in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls in operating, turning, backing, and controlling vehicles which carry heavier loads or larger numbers of people than vehicles at the grade 6 level. Also assist medical personnel with the loading and unloading of patients as necessary. They exert moderate physical effort with frequent handling of objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and the occasional handling of heavier objects while loading cargo with the assistance of other workers or weight handling equipment.
- Working Conditions: Drivers work mostly outside and operate vehicles in all kinds of weather in a controlled traffic environment throughout a government installation or city and federal highways. Drivers are exposed to dirt and fumes, and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or from falling objects when loading and unloading the vehicle.
