Help

Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the squadron.

Manage assigned maintenance resources and ensures production meets operational requirements and technical standards.

Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities to include personnel and position management, equal opportunity, security, and safety. Advises employees regarding policies, procedures and directives of management.

Represent organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external customers.

  • This position is subject to provision of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
  • This position is designated as a mobility position. Incumbent must be willing to move/transfer to another unit/ location on a lateral or promotion basis as directed by HQ AFRC.
  • AFRC command-wide geographic mobility is a condition of employment for all ART Officer positions. The employee must sign a mobility agreement.
  • May act in the absence of higher level supervisor up to and including the Group Commander.
  • Key management position in which the incumbent is required to formulate, determine or influence training policies of unit to which assigned. This is a designated key position in accordance with HQAFRC/ DPCS Attachment 17 to the guideline FPM 930-71
  • May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments.
  • Retired military are usually ineligible for membership in the Air Force Reserve. Retired military personnel who have active Air Force Reserve assignments may apply provided they show assignment (position and unit) on their application.
  • Disclosure of Political Appointments is required.
  • Direct Deposit: All federal employees are required to have direct deposit.
  • The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.

  • Depending on type of position selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-yr probationary period OR 2-yr trial period.
  • This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA).
Qualifications

THIS IS AN AIR RESERVE TECHNICIAN OFFICER POSITION.
This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer position located at 349th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron with the military rank of Lieutenant through Major (O1-O4), AFSC: 021A3. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes use of a variety of reports and consultation with managers and subordinates, planning, directing, and coordinating the maintenance activities of the squadron, and support activity and function of small to medium military installations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Broad knowledge of aircraft maintenance management practices, procedures and organizational and mission requirements; capabilities and limitations.
2. Knowledge of basic operating principles of assigned aircraft systems and components; basic munitions, munitions procedures and quality assurance and other unit operations.
3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
7. Knowledge of maintenance information systems.
8. Knowledge and ability to interpret instructions, specifications, technical orders, publications and operating procedures.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
