This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
IAW SA-2024-12, this position requires a physical examination. The physical requirements of this position as determined are light lifting (under 15 lbs.), light carrying (under 15 lbs.), reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously, ability to distinguish basic colors, and the ability to hear (hearing aid permitted). Requires H-1 profile for entry and must maintain an H-2 profile each year.
Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.

This is a Term position NTE 4 Years; the individual selected for this position may be extended without further competition. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, Emergency Vehicle Dispatcher, Series 2151.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-1, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include knowledge of communications operations procedures. Knowledge of basic computer operations to include word processing, retrieval and input of data. A qualified typist is not required. Knowledge of location and availability of emergency apparatus, the kind of apparatus and equipment needed for the emergency at hand.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed a full 4-year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree. This education was obtained in an accredited technical school, junior college, college or university which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience as described above may be used to qualify for this position. Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:Knowledge of communications operations procedures. Knowledge of basic computer operations to include word processing, retrieval and input of data. A qualified typist is not required. Ability to prioritize and organize work. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing using a calm and stable demeanor while dealing with emergency situations. Ability to work independently without immediate supervision. Ability to maintain good working relationships both within and outside the organization. Knowledge of location and availability of emergency apparatus, the kind of apparatus and equipment needed for the emergency at hand. Ability to work in environment with constant noise (alarms, fans, radio, etc.) and varying volume of stressful activity. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). - Maintains telephone and radio communications; performs Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), E-911 call taking, and dispatches appropriate emergency forces.
- Performs Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) services to callers with medical emergencies.
