PRISM Inc.is seeking a Lead AI Architect to serve as the primary technical subject matter expert for the design, deployment, governance, and optimization of the agency's AI ecosystem, ensuring alignment with mission objectives, security mandates, and compliance requirements. This position is remote with on-site visits to Washington, DC no more than once a quarter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Enterprise AI Architecture & Operations: The Lead AI Architect shall assist with architecting, designing, implementing, and managing a secure, compliant, and scalable enterprise AI environment supporting agency-wide mission needs. Assist with oversight of foundational setup, configuration, security hardening, and ongoing operational management of all AI platforms and services. The Lead AI Architect shall serve as the technical lead responsible for assisting CFTC with architecting, securing, integrating, and operationalizing all components of the agency's AI ecosystem, ensuring alignment with:
- Enterprise governance frameworks
- Cybersecurity requirements
- Privacy standards
- Data classification policies
- Architectural compliance with federal security, privacy, and governance standards.
• Develop and maintain detailed, visually clear architecture diagrams that represent the design, flow, and integration of AI-based systems within the enterprise ecosystem.
• Assist CFTC with the management of AI solution deployment lifecycles, recommend updates, submit change requests, maintain current versioning, and assist with vulnerability mitigation within the Commission's service level agreements. The Lead AI Architect shall collaborate with CFTC technical teams, mission owners, agency leadership and governance bodies to design, refine, and optimize AI-enabled solutions, workflows, and operational processes, establish prompt engineering standards, refine use cases and develop evaluation methodologies, and identify measurable mission benefits.
• Performance Measurement, Optimization, Enhancement, Adoption: Assist CFTC with establishing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive AI Performance and ROI Measurement Framework across all deployed AI capabilities. Ensure solutions deliver demonstrable value aligned with agency mission outcomes. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of deployed AI capabilities, including model refinement and prompt enhancement, model exchange strategies, and performance tuning and long-term capability maturation. The AI Lead shall support and strengthen agency-wide AI adoption initiatives, including the AI Community of Practice and the AI Ambassador Program, by contributing technical expertise, mentoring participants, and helping drive a culture of responsible and effective AI use.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 8+ years of experience in data science, software engineering, or system architecture, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML production environments.
• Demonstrated experience architecting and managing enterprise AI environments in secure, regulated environments.
• Demonstrated, hands on expertise with Azure AI Foundry, including deploying AI solutions, configuring agentic workflows, managing evaluation pipelines, and operationalizing production grade AI capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience deploying/configuring/operating AI solutions using Azure AI Foundry including model orchestration and evaluation pipelines, deployment patterns and retrieval augmented generation (RAG), data integrations and responsible AI controls, and design, deployment, and management of Agentic AI systems (AI Agents), including multi step workflow agents, tool using agents, and autonomous orchestration patterns supported by Azure AI Foundry.
• Demonstrated experience transforming business use cases into deployed AI solutions, including gathering and analyzing requirements, selecting the appropriate technologies, designing the solution architecture, and delivering a fully implemented and operational capability.
• Significant experience with the Microsoft Copilot ecosystem, including M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Security Copilot, and integration with Azure data, security, and identity services.
• Demonstrated experience in AI governance, compliance, and responsible AI practices, ensuring all solutions adhere to enterprise controls and regulatory requirements.
• E xcellent communication, problem solving, and change management skills, enabling smooth adoption and sustained use of AI capabilities across the agency.
