Java Developer - Part-Time

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Part-Time Java Developer with a minimum of five (5) years of experience to support ongoing project needs. This role requires a strong technical foundation in enterprise and legacy Java technologies, along with flexibility to contribute across multiple workstreams as project demands evolve.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based enterprise applications
• Utilize Apache Struts framework and EclipseLink (JPA) for application development
• Support and maintain applications deployed on Oracle WebLogic Server
• Perform and remediate Fortify static code scans, ensuring adherence to security standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development and production environments
• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and project teams to deliver effective solutions
• Adapt to changing priorities and contribute to a variety of project-related tasks as needed
• Assist with documentation, testing, and deployment activities
• Support tasks outside of core development responsibilities to ensure overall project success

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information science, or software engineering
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Java (J2EE/Java EE)
• Hands-on experience with Apache Struts, EclipseLink (JPA), Oracle WebLogic Server, Fortify (static code analysis and remediation)
• Experience working within enterprise or legacy system environments
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity
• Must be a U.S. citizen and undergo a background check for Public Trust
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $94,400.00/Yr. - USD $157,600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
